From: Sarge (Original Message) Sent: 2/13/2007 5:01 PM Gunsmith tips, actually sorta a reloading tip. To clean your brass cases, use 1 to 1 1/2 oz. of Potassium Bitartrate to a quart of water. Dump in the brass and boil for around 10 minutes. (DO NOT USE A MICROWAVE) Drain the solution into a jar (keep and use it again) and flush the brass with hot water. Put the brass in a folded towel and roll them around for a few minutes until dry and you will have shiny bright brass. OH, the Potassium Bitartrate can be bought at the grocery store, it is called "Cream of Tartar" Sarge |

Thanks, Sarge. I just found an old gallon plastic container of that while cleaning out the shop. I guess I won't throw it away after all. |
