did you find any thing out on your rifle I have one just like it and would like to know about it also

It is a take down and looks alot like my remington takedown but is lighter and the forearm is a little shorter.  thanks for any info anyone can give us

I was told by a loacal gun smith that the rifle was made by remmingto for montgumery wards but could not nail down when.

 

hopefully some will come out off the woods and shed a little light on the trail blazer!!

If it is a slide action, it is more than likely a Wards gun made by Savage/Stevens, model 29A, circa mid 1960's.

 

It seems that there may be a few other rifles that would fit your description if it is not a slide action. It seems that there were some bolt action Mossbergs with this name also. I am pretty sure that the oct barrel is a pump though, so it should be the mod 29A Savage.

Thank you that looks like the one I have, from what picture I can get from the part break  down. But the forearm looks right and the reciver, they are both kind of distintive. thanks again.
