Im going to buy a rifle for my wife  to hunt deer with and am considering buying a 270 caliber rifle.  Does any body have a wife who shoots one ? Or is there another caliber that i could consider?

My better half shoots a Ruger M77 7mm-08 and has taken a few whitetails with
hers. The cartridge has a mild recoil so it's usefull for the ladies and
young beginners in the sport. Be aware though, the 7mm-08 has it's
limitations. By that, I mean, the caliber is good for medium sized white
tails and iffy for large bucks or mule deer. Although many deer have been
taken that are concidered large, there is a better kill ratio for smaller
game with this rifle. Others on this site may have differing opinions than
mine so you be the judge.

I myself as a female hunter of whitetail deer/moose shoot a semi auto remington 30-06, I don't find the recoil bad @ all,(especially when I see nothing but RACK)....LOL. Good luck to you and your wife and happy/safe hunting. Let us know what you get.
