I was at the range yesterday playing with my 30/30 and 444 (of course) behind my table when I noticed something kept hitting my foot. When I looked down I discovered I was surrounded by a pile of spent 223 brass. Turns out the guy next to me was shooting a "mini 14" along side his table some 40 feet away. Then they started bouncing across the top of my table ! Started with the brass shells then the (Wolf brand ?) aluminum. But by then I was just waiting for the next cease fire to change targets so I figured I wouldn’t say anything until he stopped and went and sat on my truck another 20ft away and 20ft back. Then they started landing behind the truck ! I yelled over and showed him where they were landing. He stopped untill he could move the target to the other side of his table but I’m thinking that’s not right for a gun to be ejecting 223s some 70+ feet. Every one of them had a big ol crease in the side too. I’m thinking there’s got to be an adjustment or something on it.
