30_06:

Weather: Sunny, warm, and no wind

Firearm: Remington 700 BDL

Scope: Leupold Vari X III (40mm)

Bullet Type: SP Pro Hunter Bullet Wt. 150 grain, Sierra #2130

Sectional Density: .226 Bullet Cofficent: .394, Dia. 308

Powder: IMR 4350, Powder Wt. 59.3 grains, FPS: 2950

Primer: CCI BR-2 Large Rifle Bench Rest, Case: Win.

Sizing: Full Length, OCL: 3.230

Same hole accuary @ 100 yds., Three shot group.

Make sure all cases measure within the maxium case length, the user a of a powder trickler is great to assure you get the correct charge of propellent. Check your Rifle's chamber for the correct OCL, (CHAMBER INTERNAL DIMENSIONS MAY NOT BE THE SAME FROM RIFLE TO ANOTHER RIFLE EVEN BY THE SAME MANAFACTURE.) Next time I'll give the Pet Load for my Remington 7400 Automatic (3006)

30-06:

I have had good results using 48 gr of IMR 4064 and the Hornady 165 gr BTSP, the 168 gr Match and the equivalent Sierra bullets in my Garand. I started out with 46.5 gr of IMR 4064 and worked up to the 48 gr load. The ejected shell casings all land at 2 o'clock about 3 or 4 feet from the gun and the groups are tight. Ejected shell landing consistancy and tight groups usually go hand in hand on a properly functioning Garand. The IMR 4064 is one of the safest powders you can use in a 30-06 as a good loading usually completely fills the cartridge case, giving great powder density and leaving enough space to seat the bullet without compressing the load. When my dad was teaching me to reload I was allowed to use the IMR 4064 powder since accidental overcharges were unlikely. In like fashion I use IMR 4227 for 41 Magnum handgun loads because it is not likely that an overloaded cartridge will result and I get good consistant velocities in my Ruger Blackhawk/Bisley conversion. Nice load data presentation guys, sometimes we get so busy talking gun politics here that we forget to do tech and reload info which is what we all really enjoy the most about this site.

30-06 happy ammo
This load is a result of alot of experimentation looking for a reasonably accurate low budget, high volume entery, just to make me feel like a kid with a 22 again.

Rifle
Browning A Bolt II w/ BOSS
Scope
Leupold Vari X II in steel rings ( 3 - 9)

Bullet
Cast (wheelweights) from lee prcision 200 grain RN  308 cal molds (no gass checks used)
Powder
Alliant blue dot 8.2 Gr
Primer
Fed 215 magnum ( acording to the chrono testing, this adds 20 fps and makes it a remarkably uniform load)
I've gotten this to group .800" at 100 yards, ample for casual shooting, with a muzzel velicity of 1050 FPS and rather low pressure.
