Best out of box.........hmmm.......I think it also depends on what you wish to do with it. Kimber is good, no doubt, the new Sig is well made as is the S&W. Of those the Sig impressed me the most. If you wish to spend more, Rock River Arms is wonderful, but not exactly an out of box or stocked item. Many opinions, many choices. Good luck.
