The mistake that I have found many people making about these films is to treat them as seperate movies, which really is not the way to look at it. Having now seen all three films it becomes very clear that Peter Jackson was trying to create one story throughout, as had JRR Tolkien when he first wrote the book. It is worth remembering that Tolkien wanted to publish his book in one volume, but that he was overuled for practical reasons by his publisher. You get the feeling that Peter Jackson would very much have liked to create one Movie, but again the practicality of that was not feasible.

All this aside, this Film of awesomely Epic proportions is a masterpiece of cinema and has probably spoiled every film that I will watch for the next few years, because inevitably I will compare it to this. The sheer massive scale of what has been produced is fantastic visually whether CGI or unembellished photography and the performances by the the various Actors, is absolutely Spot on. Peter Jackson picked his cast with due care and dilligence and the book has become even more enjoyable to read as I fit various performances by the actors, into the characters in the book.

Peter Jacskon has taken some liberties , but has remained completely true to the core themes of Tolkien's work.

I could sit here and write a review for hours, but I will sapre you all that doom and simply say that for those who have not seen these films I promise you it is well worth the effort. For those of you have seen the films but have not seen the Special edition Extended versions again I urge you to see them, it is well worth your time.

This gets about 7 Stars out of 5

I have seen "The Fellowship Of The Ring" and "The Two Towers": both were excellent films. I have yet to see "The Return Of The King". The specials effects are spectacular. I urge anyone reading this to watch these brilliant films.

I was wondering about "The Hobbit": is this story going to be made into a film?

Peter Jackson is committed to remaking King Kong for the next 18-24 Months, however, there was a rumour going round that they were planning to get him to do the Hobbit after that is finished. Another rumour also circulated that they may get another Director in to do the filming so they could release it sooner.

Whichever is true, it seems inconceivable that New Line Cinema would NOT take advantage of this extremely successful franchise. So in essence I think that I can guarantee that the Hobbit will be released.

I'm not sure if the Hobbit the movie is a good idea. Don't get me wrong I looooooooooove the LOTR trilogy by Peter Jackson and can't wait to get the extended edition of Return of the King on DVD, I think these are cinema masterpieces and worthy of the hoardes of awards piled on them, but please remember that the Hobbit was written by Tolkien as a story for his children, it is  children's book. Now I love it dearly, but anyone who has read the Hobbit and then read the Lord of the Rings cannot fail to notice the step up in gear as Tolkien switches audiences and tells a story that depicts the horror of war and the true nature of evil. The Hobbit was simply meant to be a children's adventure, Peter Jackson is a Zombie-flick director who has achieved a lot but I don't think he's capable of doing the Hobbit in a manner that would be true to the book (possibly anouther director could), but I think the Hobbit is too nice, too innocent and light for PJ to pull off.

But then I could be completley off-target
