Hello everyone, I am gonna post this question on other boards of other groups I am a member of because I am in need of some help, So if you see this in another group that is why. lol anyways.....

   My sister moved in to a house about 4 or 5 yrs ago. it is a very old house in Ironton,Ohio. when they first moved into the house they began to hear weird noises and voices of women and children on occassion she could also hear  a woman screaming and children crying. but mostly she would hear someone walking up and down the upstairs hall and the kids running down the steps, at first she thought it was her own kids playing but everytime she checked the kids they were always asleep. It seemed harmless for a few years but lately it has begun again with alot more activity.

 

for the first time they have even seen a lady that would dissapear into the hallway closet she would look inside the closet and could never find anyone or anything in there. Things gt lost never to be seen again lately thou she has been feeling certain cold spots in diffrent places of the house and at times awful smells.

 

Her youngest daughter started having really bad nightmares and is convinced something is out to gt her in the house. she has even woke a time or two and hacve had scratches on diffrent places of her body. whatever it is it seems to be only focussing on theyoungest daughter. not knowing where to turn she began speaking to a few of  her neighbors and rumer has it that in the 1940s a woman and her 2 small children were murdered and shoved into th ehall closet, and their bodies were not found until a week later when a teacher of one of the kids became worried because th echild had missed th ewhole week of school. They have never solved the murder and we believe that the spirits in the house are those of the woman and the kids.

 

My question is....how does a person research a history on a old unsolved mureder that happened so long ago? we have tried to do searchs on the internet but have not came up with anything happening in Ironton around that time. Now i know that over the years the story could have been stretched i dont know and if i hadnt heard the screams and seen the scratches on my neices body i am not sure if i would have believed it myself. but something is in that house. How do we find out about it. the murder and why she is still there. i figure they are still in the house cause their murder has never been solved and the guilty has never been brought to justice.  I cannot find anything out on this murder. is there someway to search the history of the house? and if there is  will the history reveal anything about the murders and who the people actually were maybe their names or anything? if anyone can lend some advice it would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance
