Irma's look says, "Ya, and whatcha gonna do 'bout it?"
Wyatt says, " I was just testing to make sure the cage is bird safe."

Irma and Wyatt are beautiful Janet!  I would love to have a grey, but my dogs would make its life miserable.  They chase all the wild birds from the yard every time they go outside.  They went nuts trying to get into the cockatiel room before we made the cockatiels a separate house.  Kathy

Not only do I love Irma and Wyatt, I love the original art work that I can see on the wall behind them.  I've been off line for more than a week, so I may have missed a post about who the artist is in your family.  Is it you, or perhaps one of your children??

My daughter did that when she was in school in 04 she was 17. I thought it was a great picture she doesnt think it is. So she doesnt do much of it anymore. She did it with oil pastels.
They decided to escape again today and so I got a brass lock for the door  brass is safe for them isnt it ?.I have to many animals in here if I was to leave I would want them safe.
I figured they got out so they got to play around out side for awhile. :)

Hi J

Barb is right about the picture ... I really like it as well. Your daughter is very talented, and hopefully she will get more interested in it one day.

J, on our left sidebar, under Metals, is an article by Gillian Willis. In it she states in part:
BRASS is an alloy of copper and zinc. Both of these metals are potentially toxic to birds.

Brass padlocks are probably not a problem for cages of small birds who are unlikey to chew the padlock. However, they should be avoided around larger birds who are able to chew them.
You can view the entire article here:
