SPRING is just around the corner and for my little neck of thw woods it was 73 degrees today!!! Tomorrow back in the 50's but that's tomorrow Right now it's great! I have the bird room  windows open and the birds are watching the construction( I hope they dont pick up any *new* words)
We're deep into the remodeling thing right now. Wayne and I are working on the library doing the mudding and sanding. Right now we're waiting for the walls to dry so we can sand and primer with Kilz, because the room was very (ick) pink.
Our windows should come in next week and they'll start putting them in asap, and as soon as the bird room is done they'll side the whole house.  Then we paint some rooms and put in new flooring. After all of that we'll want a vacation!!!
The gurly doggies recovered well from being spayed, and got their stitches out yesterday. They are frisking around like nothing ever happened.
Unfortunately we have a new cat outside and she looks awfully "Fat" so I'm guessing there will be more kittens in our future *sigh*.
If the weather holds we are traveling to the chilly state of Minnesota ! We're going to Feather's place to pick up Gabe the Grey and foster hime til a home can be found for him.ake's coming down to bird sit while we are gone.
Di I hope you are feeling better, and Too how is Major feeling? Annie and Abeau keep those nifty pictures coming. Nan

Boy, winter came back to Oklahoma. I think Kansas blew down here. It is so cold (high 30s) and the wind is so high it's hard to breathe outside. I went out to fill the birdfeeders this morning and could hardly stand it. The front came thru early evening yesterday and blew lawn furniture around and tossed stuff everywhere. I watched the neighbor boy's little pedal car go racing down the street without a driver.
We had a huge dead tree taken down a week or so ago and a big limb crashed down from another tree this morning. If we take out the mostly dead ones we will have no shade at all.
The little wild birds act like nothing is wrong out there. There were many of them at the feeders this morning but the wind had emptied both of them. Now they are partly full again so there will be even more after while.
Annie

Deb, it's great to see another Canadian in The Nest! Welcome! I'm near Victoria in British Columbia.

I am reading like crazy trying to catch up on all I missed being offline since last weekend. I just about went bonkers without a computer ... I didn't realize how much time I spend on here until it was gone! lol

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Abby

Repost to remove email addresses, etc.

Deb, if you reply by email, could you please delete the message that you are replying to? It adds all kinds of gobbledy-gook when it posts, and makes the boards very hard to read. Better yet, come to the site to read and reply! It is far more interesting to see everything!

If you post a message on the board saying something like In the chatroom as a title, and then say how long you will be there or what time you will go there, along with your time zone, if anyone is around they'll join you. If not, we have chat on Thursday (we were int here last night) starting at the following times:
6:00 pm Pacific
7:00 pm Mountain
8:00 pm Central
9:00 pm Eastern

Yesterday me and mom went to Little Tkye's rescue ( small breed rescue ) and we gave them 2 23 pound bags of dog food and 30.00. I felt happy to be able to help them. All the dogs were so sweet, I wish I could have brought a couple of them home.

Good Morning!!

I thought some of you might enjoy seeing a couple of pictures.

Here's me and my sweetie on Saturday...

And here's where we crossed the bay on snowmobile to get to take that picture....
Now that I'm looking at the picture, I can't believe myself that we crossed that dangerous ice!  Its called Mulligan's Bay and eventually opens to the ocean, and is partially salt water.

Wow......!!  I'm brave!
(or stupid, lol)

And here's a picture of a Grey Jay (or Whiskey Jack) that we shared a few crackers with when we stopped for lunch on the trail at one of the Snowmobile Shelters.

I wonder if I'll ever figure out why I can't get any birds to come close to the house and the birdfeeder I have put out, yet they'll eat out of your hand in the woods??

Oh wow, you are a brave lady. Or stupid.   Those pic are gorgeous.

What are you putting in your feeder?  Tell us the species of some birds up there and I can look in my books to see what their favorite foods are. Assuming, that is, that your birds show up in my books.

I just finished planting two huge tomato plants and some curly parsley and rosemary.  I don't do gardening any more but the tomatoes should be easy to take care of. Right up by the patio so I won't have to drag the water hose too far. The others are in big hanging baskets. Yum, the rosemary smells so good.
Now I feel all buggy from being in the grass. Dang little wild birds always make me buggy.
