I know what you mean about the books!  I usually buy paperbacks because I love to read, and they pile up.  I have so many "just waiting" to be read.  I buy ALOT of books, and can only read one at a time, so they pile up.  And until I get all this clutter cleared away, they are piled everywhere.

I have to look at my "favorites" list under my Yahoo email address, but I just learned about a couple of cool Web sites where you can, for example, swap books with people. You list the books you want to give away, and you browse other people's lists. So, if you ask for a book I have offered and I send it to you, I get  one or two 'credits.' I can use these credits to request someone else's book that I'd like to read. Of course, you have to pay to mail them, but if you send a book by media mail I believe it's $3 at most. So, it's a nice way to get "new" books -- which you can then re-offer when you finish reading it -- and to get rid of books you've already read. Another place you might not have thought about donating books to is your local prison. Most of them have libraries. We have a minimum security prison near here, and some guys have read just about everything in the library. Of course, you don't want to donate any books you might have on making gunpowder from common household ingredients, or something like that, ha ha - Brenda

I am bad with books too.  I spend at least $20 each time the library has a used booksale in town, which thankfully only happens twice a year!  However I have hardly read any of the books I purchased last year let alone this year!!!  I also love Amazon and I think the book closeouts is another one I've perused!

PBS may not be a good web site for me. i am finding waaaaaaaay too many books i want! LOL! getting rid of most 10 books so far and only asked for 1. i got my eye on 4 others and on a list for 15 more! LOL!

i only have a small protion of my books listed so far. i think 50 or 60? and that was only going thru 2 shelves of my 1 book case.

yeppers! got 10 books gone and 2 on hold! that means i can get 10 maybe 12 more books to add to my collection! yeah this site may not be the best for getting rid of books unless u have great willpower and NOT get any added to your collection! LOL!

I'm usually just a reader instead of a writer and I guess I'll have to start contributing more but the mention of PBS (Paperback Swap) really hit home.  I am a tour guide there (helping other people, particularly new ones) with any questions they might have.  I have several suggestions under my profile for starters.  I love paperback swap.  I only get books that are on my wishlist because otherwise I was getting way too many books.  I have been a member for almost 3 years and love the comraderie of the discussion board as well.  This is the link to my profile if you want it - or you can access the other one, above http://getfreebooks.paperbackswap.com/profile/
