Well, tis 2 days till Easter, & since last weekend I've been putting off that coffee table dredge & general tidying up as I am supposed to host a few rellies on Sunday. I was also planning on shopping today for essentials. Well, now I'm screwed big time.....yesterday morning I woke up SCREAMING & I am NOTR exaggerating.....my knee decided to blow out WHILE I WAS SLEEPING!!! OMG you wanna talk PAIN & AGONY here, & this is on top of my 5 blown disks as well. My pain meds are not TOUCHING this fresh pain at all. I don't even know which side I ought to hold my cane on as tis the left side f my back that bothers me the most, but it's the right knee that is now hot, swollen, & tender. If I had only done this stuff last weekend like I was sposed to but nooooooooo I had to read my new Amazon shipment instead Anyone else in a tizzy over holiday company coming? |

Greeny, Oh no~! I feel so bad for you! I can't imagine the pain you are going through? Is there someone who could do your errands for you? Are you still going to have guests over this weekend? I would be a basket case. And just think, if you have to rest your knee and back....more time to read! LOL Take care! Kat |

A while ago I went in the kitchen (closing eyes to sink full of dishes that did not get done in a timely fashion either) & all of a sudden my kneecap gave offthis enormous CRACK like it was the Titanic hitting an iceberg.....& poof begone pain! Methinks something got stucked & then it got unstucked on its own. This best not keep happening or I will not be amused. And instead of cleaning & shopping what am I doing? Sat right back down at the computer! |

Hi -- I know what you are describing about your knee -- several years ago, I tore the cartiledge in my left knee (ballet class, so this was MANY years ago) and didn't have surgery, just let it heal - took months of hobbling around -- but every now and then, the knee cap moves out of place, kind of like your elbow might do that or your shoulder -- and it seems to just put itself back, eventually. I remember the orthopedic doctor telling me that I needed to do things -- make sure my thigh and calf muscles were strong -- because they help keep the knee cap in place -- AND to stretch, so that the thigh muscles don't get so tight they PULL the knee cap out of whack. I tend to have really tight ham strings, and they also cause my back to hurt sometimes.... Now that the weather is warming up here in Connecticut, I am psyching myself up to (1) at least three times a week and (2) get back into yoga and/or beginning Pilates. By the way, I am listening to a book on tape called Making a Good Brain Great, and one of the best protections against Alzheimers (among other things) is regular exercise. It also helps with ADD, which is why I am listening to this book -- looking for ways to make my brain function better so I can deal better with eliminating clutter and storing those things that I actually need and/or value. -- Brenda |
