Hi, sorry to hear about your basement - that certainly would throw a wrench into the works. Consider any progress good progress, though. I spent maybe three hours clearing off the my kitchen table, which I also use as a kind of desk, some weeks back. Now it's back to where I started. Funny how that happens. I think what's going wrong is that the stuff on the table doesn't really have a "home" to be put away to - I need to grit my teeth and make some decisions/sort stuff and make sure I keep an eye on it. Likewise, I have left dishes in the sink for just one day, only to find it stretch into three days - and then it's (a) gross (even though I always rinse dishes before leaving them in the sink) and (b) a major chore, because I don't have a dishwasher. But I will keep plugging. And I say, congrats to you on what you've accomplished... it counts! - Brenda |

my dining room table sounds like your kitchen table. i finally got it cleaned up on Thursday and guess what? its still clean! i got hubby to sort everything. gave him the 3 box method to use; bills, put away (has to have a place) and throw out. he did the table in 30 mins and it took me 15 mins to do the put away box. i did set aside the bills for later. almost had it trashed again last night but i shook off the lazy's and it took me 3 mins! |

Like i said in another post, we have tackled my ten year old's room last weekend. It literally took about 40 man hours to get it into shape! Today I need to get a few things ready for a garage sale next weekend. If only I had a garage to store it all in!!! My house is still an embarrasment to me and I still continue to provide childcare from my home, haven't lost any clients yet because of it, but I can tell what some of them think!! |
