Three teens have been found guilty of kicking a 47 year old father to death outside his home after he went to them in bare feet to confront them about damage to his wife's car.

The 3 convicted of his murder are aged 16, 17 and 19 and 1 offender had just been released on bail a few hours before this incident.

I think what has happened here is abosultely tragic, senseless and at the same time terrifying......his widow came on TV to do a  press release and part of her speech was about the parents of these teenagers and their responsibility to the rest of society to bring kids up properly...like she and her now dead H brought up their 3 daughters.

I am so sorry that this has happened to this poor family...words can't describe my disbelief that something as shocking and violent as this has happened.....but why blame the parents?...

...........because they can...............an easy scapegoat and the true issue is never raised.

I've e-mailed the ITV news asking that a programme of awareness of P's should be made. You never know I may get a reply!

I guess people always look for somewhere to lay the blame Twinkle and more often than not its us parents .It may be that the parents of these kids were violent, feckless and a contributing factor in their violent assualt of this poor man,its just as likely however that the parents are shocked ,bemused and ashamed that the children they loved and nurtured turned out to be monsters capable of killing a man in cold blood yards from his own home.
I look at my own N son and wonder what people who have never met me imagine me to be like when they are faced with his awful behaviour ,do they wonder at the nightmare mother that grew her son into such a creature or do they have a spark of understanding and sympathy for the fact that the despite doing our level best ,loving and guiding some children just doesnt achieve the same results.I always wonder when I read stuff like this story what both sets of parents are going through, the victims and the perpatrators.....

Before I experienced my daughter I thought it was the parents fault too.  People are just ignorant and also they don't want to acknowledge that some children are just truly evil and can't be helped.  It involves a good dose of self righteousness on their part, but also there is a societal taboo against saying that some kids are rotten.  Those kids who murdered that man are rotten nomatter who raised them or what happened to them.

Everybody blames somebody!!

just been on the news today re this tragic case.the chief constable for the area of the murder says we should confront these thugs and criminals when they are doing these things.????????oh yes..then the police come and arrest us for stepping in..these police forces want to make their minds up!

and our illustrious tory leader and PM wannabe david cameron...he says something must be done!.LMAO!! how many times have I heard a politician come out with that one when they are passing the book!? He also said that schools and teachers and society generally needs to sort this problem out......someone should maybe whisper in his very thick cauliflower ear hole that  the state is part of the problem.and in many cases the rights of parents to sort their kids out is taken away anyway.

Suzanne.I hold my hand up here too...I have also looked at unruly kids and blamed the parents, blamed the councils for not providing leisure facilities etc.......but at the end of it all, these kids have a choice....

I feel lucky in some ways, I wasn't dragged through juvenile courts etc cos my daughter was  not too bad til she hit 14 and then didn't go off the scale til she was around 16......and has never been arrested..even though she has manipulated others into doing terrible things..and now at 21, if she gets arrested, she is on her own.

Like she says.the only crime is getting caught..maybe she should be a politician??
