Oh YUM.  My daughter just brought home a big thing of strawberrys!  Big, sweet, juicy ones.  And she bought this little container thing with chocolate that she popped in the micro and heated for a few seconds to melt the chocolate and now we are dipping the strawberries into the chocolate and THIS IS HEAVEN!

We have some left over (strawberries) and what I'm gonna do is put them in the blender with some milk and some vanilla ice cream and make some strawberry shakes.

I am seriously addicted to strawberry shakes.  But only the good kind that uses real strawberrys and vanilly ice cream.

Well, I'm on my way to my sons 'going away' party at this bar.  He is off to Iraq in a couple weeks.  I'm freaking out.  Hope I dont show it.  I want to let him see that I'm proud of him and I support him all the way, but it is very hard.  I dont beleive in that war and I cant imagine one of my kids over in that god forsaken desert.
Praying a lot these days.  Cant imagine him getting hurt or worse, never coming back to me.  Already lost one son...

I'll let ya all know how this going away party went.  His girl friend has a whole bar and she said they are usually closed on Sundays but they opened their doors and even hired a D.J. for Justins party.  woopee!!!

luv,
sue
ps:  Strawberries really do cheer me up.

Sue..It's that time already eh..damn that went fast. I remember when you told us you found out he was going. Isn't..or wasn't your daughter supposed to go as well?

How did the party for your son go last night? It must be hard to put on a brave face..I so understand why you're nervous. Do you know how long he has to stay in Iraq for? Please know my prayers and thoughts will be with you and yours..if you ever need to just talk or whatever feel free to email me anytime. I'm not for what's going on over there either..these are some brave kids taking up the call. I mean remember how we thought at that age...so hard for them to know who is right and who is wrong. Even if they do what the heck can they do about it once they're in. Bush needs to be really ashamed for putting Americas best and brightest to the test..and for what...his take on Iraq..a situstion that he's know locked America into for God knows how long. But you're a mother Sue..and all you want to know is that your kids will come back home safely..all of us here stand by you during these times. Love ya girl.
I'm happy the strawberries made you feel better..heck we'll eat em everyday then okay. lol raspberry is all they had...close enough. But dipped in melted chocolate..oh be still my heart. You had me running around looking for old easter bunnies I could melt..found a teeny weeny piece..and dipped a few myself. Delicious.

Hey Bright..so how'd the creaming go yesterday..lolol..sorry couldn't resist..musta been fun...sticky but fun.. Yep love the hot apple pie and ice-dream thing too..good in the winter.

Jo lol..you nut...oh I wish carrots and apples were my guilty pleasure..damn would I look much better if they were. Interesting craving though..really. Not sure why you'd be wanting them but I'll take a look. And the apples..well I'll admit they can be excellent...and good for you. A stash of carrots...now I've heard it all..crack me up Jo.

Enjoy the guilty pleasures

Susie,  I am sorry I didn't email you sooner.
My prayers will be with you and your Son while he is in Iraq.
I can only imagine what must be going around in your mind, and your heart must be breaking right now.
I live close to you, If you ever need to talk, let me know, I will send you my phone number and you can call me.
Hey, I haven't forgotten the lunch I still owe you, lol.

One more thing, While I was at the crisis center on Sunday, there were boxes laying all over the place filled with books, games, snacks, and alot of fun stuff being sent to the guys in Iraq.
I thought that was a wonderful thing to do.
Maybe you can let me know an address for your son while he is there.
It would be a great project for the girls in our neighborhood to collect things and maybe they can send your son a care package.
I think it will be good for Charlotte and her friends to do, and I am sure your Son and his friends would love a care package.
Hope you have a peacefilled day,  Hugs and Kisses,  Karen

Sha, yea the time does go by fast, too fast!   Justin will be leaving the beginning of June sometime.
(We're not suppose to tell anybody the exact date they'll be leaving for some reason to do with national saftey or whatever.  Anyways I dont think you people on HoH are terrorists...... are you??!! LOL!)
But his party was really fun.  It was always in the back of everybody's mind the reason we were having the party though, and near the middle of the party (when all YOUNGSTERS were nicely drunk!) they all started crying and hugging and all that. I think me and my husband were the oldest people at this bar, except for a few regulars that snuck in.  But it was mostly a lot of guys with brush cuts that were being deployed also, and a bunch of young girls. My son works at another bar as a bouncer, and that bar happens to be one of those strip tease bars......hmmmm and a lot of young beautiful girls were all over the place.  My husband was in heaven.
and then there was his family, me, my husband, and a whole bunch of cousins and his sister and her friends.
Robin is NOT going thank God.  I would have moved to Canada sha, no way.  I  can barely picture my son over there.  I definatly can not picture my daughter.
I really am for womans lib and all (after all our generation did a LOT to the cause) but as far as woman fighting in a war...........no.  We are not built the same for one thing and if I was hurt I would want my son next to me in the field, not my daughter, who wieghs barely over a 100.  At least my son could carry me back.  Although my daughter did get a certificate for sharp shooter!  I suppose she could shoot the bad guys while we waited for a nice strong man to carry me back to safty.

KAREN,
Thank you for your prayers I really appreciate them. I'm very nervous about this.  The day is getting closer.  Justin will be gone about 14 months or maybe a little longer.  When he was in Cuba he was gone for one year.
I have a dentist appointment Monday at 2 o'clock with a new student dentist.  Soon I'll have my 'new teeth' and I'll be going out in public again!!!  Then I will buy YOU lunch!  But until then I only go to the clinic, moms and home cause I look like a wierdo............I know, very vain of me, but cant help it!!  Do you realize I've been going to the Uof D for almost 2 years and I STILL dont have my teeth!?

Well I'm very tired...I gotta go to my clinic then maybe go read this book at my moms house.
Luv,
sue

Dear Sue..Here for here for you for whatever and whenever you need to get anything off your chest....anything! [email protected]

The party sounds like it was a blast...great to take memories like that with you. I know what you mean about being the oldest ones in the bar these days. I hadn't been out in awhile so
decided to go downtown the other night and look up a few old haunts...yep definitely felt out of step..time..that kinda thing. Wasn't long before I hit the over 40 jackpot and ran into some old friends..needless to say some things never change. So glad to hear Robin isn't going over..no doubt women aren't on the same physical level as men when it comes to the battle field. I do think there's alot we can offer though..that's just my take. I would never want to be in a company that didn't feel safe having me by their side..the situation you describe is one such example. Sharp shooter huh...dang I'd walk anyhwere with Robin  My granmother was the sharp shooting champ in her village way back when..very cool!

How's your mom doing these days..everything okay and the new kitty? Believe me Sue I get it about 'teeth.'' Was lucky I had the good sense to take care of mine during all those years of using..just barely but I made it with most intact. Actually the most damage I ever did to my teeth was when I shot speed for a year and a half during my early teens. Lost 4 molars in that period. This shit eats away at everything...literally.

So hang in Sue...am with ya for the long haul. He will be back before you know it...but until then..please remember..anytime.

Sha
xxxx
