Heritics of Heroin

Hey Sha, that is a neat optical illusion. I often wonder about perception and our dual brain. It seems that we are locked into a dualistic percept system. Something is there or it isn't. The color will change back and forth between two different shades.I noticed in the rotating dot exercise that you can focus your sight any where on the screen and the dots will eventually disappear. I also noticed at the ten, twelve, and three o'clock positions some green shimmers during the blink or pass in the shape of a partial sphere. I noticed these things again today when I tried the exercise. Maybe it's my computer. I noticed that the dots return at the slightest movement of the eye once they appear to disappear and as long as you can hold a completely unwavering focus(legendary evil eye of magicians)on any point on the screen the dots will disappear. I've managed approximately between two and three seconds and it is very difficult. I remember reading an essay in a book entiltled, 'You Are Being Lied To', by a woman psychiatric and brain doctor interested in perception where she runs an experiment showing a video tape of an automobile accident to many(20-30)people with a group being suggested to right after the video and the other group receiving no suggestion. Each person is asked to describe the scene and every answer is different. Hence all completely individualized perceptions of the same happening. The suggstion parts were questions like , "what did the brunette on the corner do after impact?", and so forth, and there in fact was no brunette on the corner, it was a man, etc., etc. Most people would swear by their recounting of the video, only to be shown otherwise at a second viewing of the tape. Will power and percetion it is said are the same thing but only appear to be different because of the brain. Feelings such as deja-vu, or something happening exactly as you think it, while your thinking and acting it?! For me these sensations are very few and fleeting, except perhaps memories of childhood, but are an example of the power within human beings to effectively direct their lives. Imagine being a yogi or sufi and spending a lifetime training your mind to be quiet to be able to think and perceive our surroundings with out all the internal noise and dialogue, and receive holy and divine thought and impressions directly from the collective universal mind, which we are all infinitely and indisolluably connected to. Universal life, mind, love, and truth, are all available to us forever but we've forgotten, and so soon after realizing! Help! Help! I must live differently than I am and reinstitute my own latent human abilities to help others and myself to all ways do the right thing at the right time and not concern myself in details or reward for action. Help, I say, Help! Young sha, forgive my rambling digression, but this little exercise of perception got me thinking, so thank you for sharing it.
