Hello Mary,

Thank you for writing to MSN Chat.
We're sorry you are having difficulty accessing MSN Chat brought about by the troubles with the MSN Chat control software. We are aware of this issue and our technical people are working on a permanent fix. In the meantime, we suggest that you try this patch up solution.
To regain access to MSN Chat
1. Close all instances of Internet Explorer.
2. Open just one browser and click "Tools" and then click "Internet Options".
3. In the "Internet Options" dialog box, open the "General" tab, and then click "Settings".
4. On the "Settings" tab, click "View Objects".
5. In the "Downloaded Program Files" window, select, right-click and delete
all files beginning with "MSN Chat Control". When asked to confirm the deletion, click "Yes".
6. Close this window, click "OK", and then "OK" again to save these settings.
7. Using Internet Explorer, open your preferred MSN Chat page ( http://chat.msn.com ) and join a Chat. This will trigger a download of the
new Chat Control. When asked to accept a security warning, click "Yes".
You should now be able to use MSN Chat.
We hope this information helps. Should you have other concerns, issues, comments or suggestions regarding MSN Chat Customer Support, please don't hesitate to write to us again.

Thank you very much for your patience!

Sincerely,

Grace
