I would suggest to leave that bathroom door closed when your husband & you retire to bed.If he is facing the bathroom entrance while he lays in bed you'll need to incorporate some cures. The situation youre sleeping with now leaves no seperation between bed & bath. This leaves the bathroom lacking in privacy & the bedroom lacking tranquility.Perhaps a nice size floor plant sitting by the hallway entrance-breaking up the flow from bed to bath or a decorative screen.Place them there and lay & look at the difference-the change in feel. Also you sould have a view to the entrance of your bedroom from your bed------your feet just shouldnt be facing directly towards the entrance/exit.
I think the more concerning headboard shape is the more standard tombstone shape(slighly ovaled at the top-rainbow shape almost). If youre concerned with your square shaped headboard-replace or soften the corners with maybe some fabric draping your bed area & blissfully draped around edges of headboard. Maybe a real cushy mattress cover can soften your very square bed as well & some real plush blankets. Also equality on your areas of the bed are crucial! If he has a nightstand with lamp next to his side of the bed-------so should you!
If you can eliminate the mirror from your bedroom-this would be optimal. If you cant or really just rather not ----perhaps finding a way to close it off at night(decorative drape for wall mirrors) or continue making sure youre not seeing your reflection from the bed.
