Who are you I thought to myself,
as I looked into those eyes
staring back at me
Do I need a key to open your
innermost being?
What does your soul have in store for me
when I get there?
Will you tell me of the pain you have
suffered from the loves you have lost?
Will you tell me of the joy you felt holding
your first born child?
Will you tell me of the anguish you felt when
you had to say goodbye at the funerals you
attended?
Will you embrace me and give me strength
to make it through another day?
Will you tell me you love me for who I am?
Suddenly you smile, turn away, and close the
door..
