Below is my post at my Poodle site I Manage. I put it up every year. But I wish to make sure all here at My Life as a Cat see it so together we can defend our furry friends so I am putting this up today. I would appreciate if you all keep this near the top for New Members who join each week to see until Halloween is over for the year. Thank you ! And I know cats everywhere thank you to ! 
This is my yearly reminder for all to read and so very important! Cat lives are at stake! 
Please be aware if you or anyone you know has cats or kittens they are looking for homes for --please wait and tell others to wait till November. Both Black cats and White cats in particular are at special risk due to people involved with cultic activities and satanic rituals etc.
Most shelters know not to adopt out Black cats in October for this very reason. The Humane Society leads the way in this. But unfortunately the word is not out on White cats (Ghost cats) yet. So spread it loud and long and check to see if your local shelters know about BOTH Black cats and White cats.
Believe me I once did research on this and White cats are at risk to. For that matter any cat of any color or pattern can be captured and harmed or worse as a "Halloween prank" by kids, teens or adults. There are some cruel people out there who think this is "fun". Just take a long look at Animal Planet and Tv news and think about some things you have seen or heard.
So if you do allow your cats outdoors or a friend or family member does-- please warn them Halloween is not a safe time for cats. Keep them in all month. Every year cats of all colors and especially Black or White as I have already mentioned disapear from neighorhoods each year in America. To lose a cat in the month of Ocotober is to always wonder what really did happen to your cat and was it snatched by a passing car looking for cats to do who knows what to them...........
