At the end of May a carnival is taking place in our area every year since 29 years ago. The event is lasting during four days. This is a colorful multi cultural fiesta for all ages with many nations participating. We are about 90 different nations living next to each others, speaking about 110 languages. It means this is not a typical blue eye long legged Swedish fiesta. Both grown ups and children wearing the most beautiful creations are dancing samba and salsa. The Swedish group of dancing fiddlers is the most exotic of them all. You can eat food from many different countries, have coffee in many different ways and buy different bits and pieces. The purpose with carnival is to bring understanding between all the different nations coming together enjoying the fiesta. Photo by Ragnar Lång used with written permission.
