Woke up on time with radio alarm at 5:15am, just to put homemade bread that had risen to perfection and put in the oven, What a grand smell all through the house this morning~ |

So far things have been going my way today so that's a good thing.
The bad news is: I don't have a ton of motivation to do things. Oh well. I have three months to get things done.
Guess I will go outside in the hot sun and see how much rose dead-heading I get done. |

What made me smile today besides being yet another day was watching a mother Robin feeding her young. I wonder if mum birds ever get time for themselves? ((Huggs))) Maggie |

I saw a beautiful black butterfly today. He was flying around so gracefully and landed on one of our flowers. A pretty sight indeed. ((Huggs))) Maggie |

You won't believe me but I saw a snake hurrying off from the road to the grass. It was gray and had a funny yellow pattern on each side of it's head. I don't know what snake it was. Maikki |

We have snakes here in Northern Ontario and it gets plenty cold. They are so beautiful. What makes me smile today is our fireplace insert is being installed. It is quite noisy in the living room, but I am at the other end of the house with music playing to block out the noises. It will be a welcome relief for the winter, to have a nice fire going to heat our house instead of expensive electricity. Maggie |

Maggie, I would just love to see a butterfly around my butterfly garden, I suppose all the road work and construction going on around where I live doesn't actually make them feel welcomed... What made me happy today? was waking up without a migraine for the first time in a week, thankfully. |

No, this was not a pet snake that escaped. We have a few snakes in the wild but only one is poisonous. I had the favour to meet with one not long ago but it did not bite me. The only country I know about in Europe where they don't have any snakes is Ireland. Maikki |

Mostly the little everyday experiences make us happy that no news papers do write about in their head lines, such as watching a black butterfly, a day free from migraine, watching your pets playing in the garden, the smell of fresh bread... what a wonderful world! Today I got a mail from China, a student I learnt to know by Postcrossing. It will be fun to exchange post cards between our countries. Maikki |

This sounds weird, so don't laugh. What made me smile today was seeing our clothes line full of laundry and the breeze moving the clothes. Sometimes the smallest things make me smile. Hmm, caught you laughing. ((Huggs))) Maggie |

My Mineaux made me smile today. He was stretched out in front of the patio door catching some sun rays and he looked so cute. ((Huggs))) Maggie |

For the first time in my life I heard a Cuckoo Bird today. I didn't get to see him but he had the distinct cuckoo call. There are so many species of birds here in Northern Ontario. ((Huggs))) Maggie |
