Here are some home remedies to help you and your pet deal with skunk odour. Remember - make sure your pet's eyes are protected and if there seems to be any irritation, call your veterinarian right away.
| 1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup of baking soda
1 teaspoon of liquid soap | The soap acts to break up oils in the skunk spray, allowing the other ingredients to neutralize the chemicals (thiols) at the root of the skunk odour. After bathing in this solution, rinse with tap water. |
| Toothpaste | Any inexpensive kind (like AIM) massaged into the fur will eliminate skunk odour. Comb it through and rinse. |
