I too was sad to hear about Big P passing away, he was a big influence in my early life and I respected him a lot too. the last time I saw him was in 1999 when I visited and I had a good long chat with him about life in general, also Matron was on good form. Unilke you I just turned up unannounced but got a warm welcome anyway.

 

I would have liked to have attended the funeral but I imaging it was probably a small private affair. It would be good if we could combine some form of tribute to Big P with the school reunion!

 

By the way as a side thought, can we have someone giving out mail in the way it was done in our day, chucking the letters out to the crown as names were called out. We could have a dummy letter for each person attending. That would bring back memories as mail time was always an important ritual, especially when tuck boxes arrived!  Trouble is the bullies like Monte Mosely would be there watching to see who got parcels so he could raid their dorms later that day.

 

Getting nostalgic again!
