Im agine our collective surprise whilst walking in the Library yesterday morning with Mrs Peaster,to be informed upon commenting on a picture of Mr.Teare, that she receives regular cards from him!!!!!.

Now, many years ago we were all led to believe that poor old Lionel, probably the best teacher to ever work there, had commited suicide in Aberystwyth, and I have been party to continuing that "urban myth" to such an extentthat Mrs Peaster was obliged to produce written evidence this morning to clarify the situation.

I apologise to the community in general and to Lionel in particular for continuing the myth.

Nick.

I have the address from the card, however, it was an Irish Abbey Guest House and he expected to be travelling to Australia & New Zealand this year, but is might be worth a shot - ask and I will post it.

Think we should send him a collective "Glad you're feeling better" card!

Address on card:

L Teare,
The Guest House
Mount Saint Joseph Abbey
Roscrea
County Tipperary
Ireland

Card sent this last Christmas. Who knows, they may have a forwarding address.

Indeed.

Who'd have thought Quantock would produce a Mark Twain in our lifetime ("...rumours of my death are greatly exaggerated..").

Allen, if you are happy to organise a collective card to Teare I am keen to support the idea. I think if we each dropped you an email with a short note perhaps you could write this on the card and put our name against each one. Card would need to be reasonably big. Feel sure Mr Teare would really appreciate this.

What do you think?
Sean

OK, Emails suitable for addition to a card, to me ([email protected])
and I will send them off.

Though I feel it is a long shot, he stands much more chance of getting it now that he is alive again...

Allen

P.S.  Am on holiday next week, so hope to have a decent number of emails when I get back
