2nd QUANTOCK MINI REUNION As the previous discussion group was getting very long I thought we should start a new one for the next mini reunion! There are quite a few of you who are keen to get another mini reunion organised for March and the 9th/10th weekend is proving popular. The reunion will be held reasonably close to the school, mainly due to the first one being in London and giving those living in the West an easier trip this time. All we need is a venue, somewhere reasonably cheap to stay and a place to get a meal and a few pints with a chance to talk about old times. I don't think we should be too close to the school (even Taunton/Bridgewater could be OK) and we need to be sensitive about a bunch of us tramping up there, however, we should organise a walk over the hills while we are there. Sarah McWilliam (Marsh Mills House) has offered to come up with some ideas for venues as she will have the best local knowledge. If anyone has any other suggestions for venues please post them here. My thoughts are that we head down Friday evening, make a day of it on Saturday with a meal in the evening and then head home Sunday at our own leisure. If that is too much and we just want to go down Staurday and stay the night let me know. I will keep tabs on who will be coming so if you are up for it please drop me an email to [email protected] Sean Harvey |

Nick, I thought you would be interested to know that Tony Cann, Kevin Freguard, Stuart Thom and myself met up for a beer or two last night at a place called Hartley Witney, Hants. It was really good to see the other two again, and of course Tony, we had a good old natter, lots of talk about motor bikes, sailing etc. Hope to get together with Mark Armitage some time soon also. Sean, I should think that last night was quite good then. If you do tie "uncle Mark" down to a date, let me know and I will try to get there as well. Nick. |

Sean, Stuart Thom, crikey, what's he up to now? Was he in my year or the year above? I used to live near Hartley Witney - Spencers Wood, just up the road. Talking about bikes, my CBR1000 made its summer (well spring anyway) debut at the weekend, although sadly I did not make the short journey to Silverstone to the Superbike racing, unlike the hundreds of other bikers that were flying along the A43! Horse racing at Towcester instead, ah well ........ By the way, I liked the photo of your boat - let me know when we can take it out for a thrash. Tony. |

Laurie, Good you can now make August, 24/25/26 is possible for me, but I recon the Bank Holiday is best avoided (trafic etc.). I cannot make the w/e of the 31st - favourite for me would be w/e of Sat 17th, but if that is impossible for you then I guess it has to be the bank holiday. What do you think? Allen |

Tony, Stuart Thom and Kevin Freeguard both stayed down a year, did the 4th form twice, so you may have been with them at some point. As for the boat, I am waiting for the first photos to be developed and will then post one. Engine is still running in but we got 48 mph out of her so far, that was with 5 people on board so hoping to break 50 mph with 2 of us and the engine run in. Kevin lives very near to the Marina so will probably get him out for a blast soon. Otherwise will have to organise a boys day out. Sean |
