I want to email people on the friends reunited (FRU) about the forthcomming reunion (9-11th July 2004) . I've got a friends reunited account which means I can email all those on the list - but sadly only one at a time.

I'm going to email the people who finished at Quantock from 1990-2006

I was hoping that maybe other people with FRU accounts might volunteer to email a section of the list preferably including their own years (e.g. 1985-1989).

It might be a little bit tedious but you can simply copy and paste the bulk email that I sent out recently:

Just so you know - a lot of people worry about not fitting in with a bunch of 'random unknowns' I did too - but please take the plunge and you won't regret it, you won't believe how much you have in common - if nothing else you will find that drinking is one of them! I made it to about 4am both nights, and I certainly was not the last up - by contrast Captain-Sensible Sean Harvey got his beauty sleep in at a bout 7pm!

Who knows this might be your last chance to wake up in Quantock Dorm, the School only narrowly escaped becoming a home for alyssum seekers (irony?) and surely a walk in the airy Quantock Woods would be worth the journey alone. We will also see if we can get a few more teachers to come along this year - Mr Langley made an appearance last year which really made my day.

This Years Reunion Information: The 2004 Quantock School Reunion will take place from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th July 2004.

Friday: B&B with evening meal £35.
Saturday: B&B, lunch and evening meal £40.
Sunday: B&B and evening meal £30.
Multi-day discount: 2 days -£5, 3 days -£10.
Camping: £10 per night, with evening meal add £5.
Day visit only: £10, Children free, with evening meal add £5.

There is a limit of 70 people staying overnight, partners and children welcome - first come first serve. The closing date for all applications is the 1st July 2004 or until all places filled. Please fill out the 2004 Application Form and include a cheque made out to the 'Quantock Reunion Fund'. Receipts will of course be given. Volunteers please - even if you can’t make the reunion yourself !! Please reply to this message if you think you can help - listing the years you are willing to do even if it is only a couple.

Go on - it won't be that hard - and errr ... I guess if you are gonna do it, the sooner the better!!

i thought friendsreunited was pants??? i heard that u have to pay to use it and loadsa people dont end up finding anyone they know on there? or maybe i am just talking a load of ****?

I agree Friendsreunited (FRU) is not that great and they want money were as we are free and far better (in my opinion!!) - but there are some people on FRU that are not on this community ..... madness, anyway I say lets let the maximum number of people know about the reunion

Some people are not that great with PCs and have not found the links on FRU to the Quantock Community, even though we were foundered before FRU - tsk

Anyway - I've emailed:

1980-1990 (the bulk of the list!!) on FRU - might have a go at more later !!!

Sorry for the delay in writing. Computer has been hit by 12 virus's in one day. The machine is just about working.

I have e-mailed a few from my era,74/75, including Dave Coulson to see if they can go, although I cannot.

My PC has crumbled on me ... Windows won't boot !!!

I was updating my virus protection software and now it is buggered !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully it is not a virus but some sort of boot problem - &*~*&$!!*
