Just to get the ball rolling.......mark this in your diaries :

Friday 2nd June  -  Sunday 4th June 2006

This is giving everyone a years notice so there will be no excuse for the following:

1.  Holidays:  Spend the weekend at Quantock Lodge! I hear it's really nice and quiet and the beach is only a few miles away......
2.  Any musical events:  Feel free to perform for us on saturday night after a few beers 'n' muffins......
3.  Weddings:   Have it at Quantock so that I may get the oppotunity to try my luck with the bridesmaids........
4.  Working:    Just do a sickie.....you will feel like it too after trying my cuisine!
5.  Off sick anyway:   Come and let us tend to your medicinal needs with: Lager, Bitter, Wine, Smirnoff Ice, Hoffmeister (expiry 1989) or a can of Quantock's finest Heineken (1987).......

On a serious note though, remember the clock is ticking down to the point where we will be unable to have such events in the future at Quantock so please bear that in mind when you are umming and arhhhhing!

Hope to see you there!

Justy

Excellent - look forward to the slides and the DVD's!!

You don't have the Quantock play ca 1988 "The rise and fall of The Rise And Fall Of Arturo Ui" on video?

I think I play 3rd gangster as well as the proscector in the case of poor Mr Fish as played by Paul Galley - my brother was the defendant's lawyer!!??

Not wishing to make everything sound like a drives debate but, that is the snooker room of 74/75 vintage and nothing to do with railways!

Nick

Are you talking about the prefab asbestos huts knocked down to make way for the new kitchen?

I think the railway room is what was known as Kitchen Dorm to some - accessed from a steep stair case near the old kitchens (window looks out on the front) .... unless Justy got into fat Mat's train room as seen from the Junior wing?

Finally, the first batch of exposed slides of the H.M. collection is here. There are hundreds of them, most of which from what I can make out, were of the mid 60's to late 70's. We are gonna need some help labelling alot of them as I had very little information to go on. I have marked up those which I know of so feel free to label them yourselves if they are familiar to you.
It only took 7 hours to process a box full of them.....only to reveal hundreds more underneath!!!!!
So if you have an hour to spare, sit back, relax and enjoy......the Headmaster's Collection!

Justin,

God.....'Fancy a Laugh'...yeah I do remember that.  Great to see the DVD even though it makes me cringe a little at the thought of it !

Cheers,

Nathan.

Justy,
Hearty thanks for all the hours you've put in slaving over a hot scanner. These images are an irreplaceable record and a fascinating montage of the School and those who passed through it over several decades. Unfortunately I couldn't see any from '67-'68 but I enjoyed all of them (except those which were way under-exposed of course) thanks again for a grand effort
- it was a 'labour of love' I'm sure! Cheers Justy...with fond memories of Reunion 2005...
Warwick

actually, I have all my reports somewhere...will dig them out and scan any humerous bits.  They were always fairly similar in that I always got an A for French, even though to this day I am shit at it.
