Hello all Anyone got any ideas for the next reunion? I was wonddering if it would it be too cheesey to have a themed reunion?? Fancy hatz (Quantock mad-hatters party) ? Best hat wins!! Would make the "Reunion photo" interesting ... or if we really wanted to go for it make Saturday night a fancy dress and beer drinking night, ideas might be: Come as something starting with the letter "Q", or maybe "Q or S" perhaps the theme could be "Green", "Colditz" or "Quantock" ... or plain good old fashion fancy dress ??? anyone else got any ideas ... .... still think hats would be simple and fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if no one replies I'll guess it was a bad idea!!!!!!!!! Dickie I think a quiz would be a good idea, but maybe one that is a little less specific. M |

I have a few ideas.
Large cut out life size picture of Peter Burgess.
( you could also add some other 'disturbed' teachers )
one bonfire ..........you can guess the rest.
l seem to remember that Winston Churchill so hated the painting of himself by Sutherland that he peed on it before throwing it onto a bonfire!

Hi Mike, From a purely selfish and personal point of view, I'd like to float the idea to Matron that, for a hefty fee, (say fifty pounds) old Quantockians could arrange to stay in their original room!!! ...as you know, mine was in top corridor and I was SO envious of the pics of you up there. I would be glad to pay half that amount just to be smuggled up to Top Corridor for an hour!!!...any takers??
Seriously, I hope to return next year, weather and authorities permitting, and my best suggestion is to have the first afternoon/evening characterised by having everyone come dressed in as much Quantock clobber as they can amass....even if it means raiding the local op-shop for turquoise underwear!!!
Love & Best Wishes to you all from Australia,
Warwick

What "Great Escape"????
I'm travelling 12,000 miles just to get back inside!!!!! (There is a suspiciously 'Colditz'-like patina to that green stone though eh what?) Great image editing Mike!!! |

Warwick Fair point, maybe it should be call "The Great Inscape" or in your case "The Great Ozscape" I knew Von Peaster had missed one Quantock Escaper: Mike |

Warwick (I meant to add) Yep, I agree it would great to stay in specific old dorms! However, Top Corridor is a no-go, unless Matron has really put some work in since last year. In the rooms most of the floor boards were ripped up and the cealing wasn't too good either! But I really loved getting up there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bit weird though with the place all ripped up, but still pretty cool, as it was the only place we had not errr ... stumbled across, ... since the reunions began ... some even say that people made it up onto the flat roof!! Anyway, I think head-boy material like yourself could put in a personal request and see what happens?! Mike |
