Mr Peaster was a man who on first meeting seemed very cruel, but once I got to know him, was very friendly and kind to me. When he caned me it was a very light tap almost as if he was playing a joke. Once he caned me and I asked "Why I've done nothing wrong SIR ?" he replied "Because I've got a new cane". Some people might think this very cruel/sadistic, but I saw the "Joke" and his little laugh, it didn't worry me at all. To me he was a man you could reason with, if I wanted to do something and his answer was "no" he would explain the reason, not like other teachers who say "Because I say so".
I will miss him as will many others.
Laurie Booth (General as he called me)
