hey- sometimes humor is the only way to handle this! also, the inability to string the correct words together sometimes goes w/RSD: i never had this problem before, and now find it nearly impossible to find the right word for the situation. it can be extremely frusterating. and stress definately elevates the pain, as well as pain elevating the stress, talk about a catch-22! but learning how to cope w/both in reasonable (yeah, right) ways can help reduce the irritation youre experiencing, emotionally & physically. i just started nerve glide therapy, which i convinced myself would be this fantastically wonderful type of therapy (it sounds nice, adding the word 'glide' in there, doesnt it?), and while it is EXTREMELY uncomfortable while happening, afterwards i feel much looser. dont know if youve tried it, or if your drs would reccommend it for you, but its seemed to help me, so far. the problem, in my experience, is that RSD is really smart, and quickly adapts to new therapies/meds, rendering them useless. its quite a bite in the ass, finding something that seems fantastic for 3 weeks, then suddenly doesnt work. anyway, its important to vent your frustrations, otherwise they will add to your stress & pain levels. i think thats why most of us are here, to give our loved ones a break from this & to talk to others who actually feel like we do.. -adrienne |
