Women want honesty and kindness. Don't ever pretend you are someone you are not on a date. What if this turns into something more than a date. You don't want to have to explain your way out of a bunch of lies. This is not a good way to start a lasting relationship.

Be kind and thoughtful. Don't be sappy. No woman likes a man who is falling all over himself trying to impress her. Act natural and be yourself.

If acting natural and being yourself means you will forget to consider her comfort, you will have to work on that. You will never find a lasting relationship if you only think about yourself.

If you are setting the date up, try to set the stage to her likes. When you are using an online dating service, you will have a lot of information about your date before you even approach her. Base the experience around her likes, not yours.

Women like compliments. Tell her she looks nice. Look her in the eye when you tell her this. She will not be impressed if you are staring at her breasts when you say this. Don't get carried away with your compliments though. It isn't natural to do this and it can be down right embarrassing.

Women like thoughtful acts. You don't have to bring a gift but you could find something you know she likes and casually let her know you did this because you knew it would make her more comfortable.

An example of this would be to bring her to an Italian restaurant if this is her favorite. You could say, "I understand you really like Italian food so I thought this would be a great place for us to know each other."

Women like to talk about themselves. They don't want you to know this but it is a fact. On your first date, you will probably get her entire life story. They will occasionally ask you about yourself but they want a short answer so they can go back to talking about themselves.

They also want you to be interested in what they have to say. Don't look around the restaurant while she is talking to you. Don't let your eyes glaze over. Take mental notes. She will expect you to remember all this if you get to the second date.

On your second date, make sure you mention things she told you on the first date. This will impress her that you really did pay attention.

Never, ever talk about past dates with other women. Don't mention your ex-girlfriend or ex-wife. She doesn't want to think you are comparing her to some other woman.

Don't say "I'm Sorry". This is just pitiful. You can say excuse me or pardon me or Oops but never say I'm sorry. You will sound like a school boy trying to get mommies affection. Huge Turn Off!

Finally, women don't like to feel pressured on a first date. It would be nice if you could work something into the conversation, early on, that you are not interested in ending the date in bed. Even if you are.

Saying something like, "First dates are always to nerve racking. I would like to spend this time to get to know you, not get you in my bed." This will be a nice icebreaker and the rest of the night will go much smoother. She will really appreciate you giving her this comfort.
