CASTLE STONES

In the dark of a fortress made of stone,

Denying that you are alone.

No one enters, no one leaves,

A lonely king of all he sees.

No pain gets in, no love gets out,

No sun that shines in the dark,

All alone in a prison made of stone,

He is king of all he knows.

Oh lonely king, I can hear you knocking

On your castle doors made of stone,

But you cannot see in the dark

The castle stones in your heart.

A silent tear in the night,

No other to see the sorrow in your eyes,

For who could see inside stone walls built so high,

Too high to see the solitary breaking heart,

Behind the castle stones in the dark.
