The Faith of the Knight
verses
The Alchemy of the Magician

Narrator: Many members of the Spiritual Learning Center had gathered to share in the court. Living_Puma stood to the side petting her large cat. LaurelLovely showed her crystals to those who were interested. Lightheart looked on in her lovely white gown. «D» pondered locomotion; or was it just plain loco? Kellog_Bluff contemplated two big dogs and a bone called Ethyl. Then the Mantis__Knight stepped forth to recite a song...
Mantis__Knight: Empty spaces - what are we living for
Abandoned places - I guess we know the score
On and on, does anybody know what we are looking for...
Another hero, another mindless crime
Behind the curtain, in the pantomime
Hold the line, does anybody want to take it anymore
The show must go on,
The show must go on
Inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on.
Whatever happens, I'll leave it all to chance
Another heartache, another failed romance
On and on, does anybody know what we are living for?
I guess I'm learning, I must be warmer now
I'll soon be turning, round the corner now
Outside the dawn is breaking
But inside in the dark I'm aching to be free
The show must go on
The show must go on
Inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on
My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly - my friends
The show must go on
The show must go on
I'll face it with a grin
I'm never giving in
On - with the show -
I'll top the bill, I'll overkill
I have to find the will to carry on
On with the -
On with the show -
The show must go on...
Mantis__Knight: Great song.
Mantis__Knight: (Begins to say something, but then stops)
Kellog_Bluff: as long as the author is not deleted by the message - the show will go on.
Mantis__Knight: It is done by Queen. But that was not the message that was deleted. I almost said the same message twice.
Mantis__Knight: Or did you mean to imply that i might be considering suicide. Parish the thought. I can't it's against the rules.
«D»: What rule? I see no such rule. It may be a part of one's ettiquete, but I could readily kill myself in any number of ways and nature's referees wouldn't think anything about it. Indeed, its through nature that I could readily kill myself. I'm not going to. That would be silly. (smile)
Mantis__Knight: No matter how you kill yourself or have yourself killed. If you perposely set into motion your death then YOU killed yourself. And it is against the rules to which i follow.
«D»: Yes, if you have killed yourself, you have killed yourself. That's simple deductive logic; a=a. I was just saying that you can't kill yourself without nature's rules. If concrete weren't solid, buildings weren't tall, gravity didn't accelerate downward motion, and our fleshy bodies weren't mortal, then jumping off the Empire States building might be a completely safe and enjoyable activity. Yes, you refrain from killing yourself because of your own rules. Good for you. (smile)
Mantis__Knight: Concrete is not solid when you are phased out, buildings are not tall when you fly, gravity is defiable, and who ever said we have to be mortal.
«D»: I guess it is againt the rules for you to kill yourself, being immortal as you are.

Then by all means, please jump off the Empire State building and demonstrate you ability to soar through the sky. While your at it, could you phase through the ground to China and get me some egg rolls? Being immortal, you could break many of Guiness Book's world records. Be the person to enjoy the longest sauna in hot liquid magma. The first athlete to carry the olympic flame on their burning head. Most gunshot wounds endured within a minute? The potential is limitless.

Truly, you must be a remarkable individual to posses such powers. Why not share these marvels with the world? Liven the world up with your superhuman feats of derringdo and teach us how to follow in your footsteps.
Laurelovely: OK boys...(laughs)...play nice (wink)
living puma: (gigles and grins)
Kellog_Bluff: When perspective is mandated as dogma - the natural inclination of a free spirit is to resist, even if the precepts are based in the validity of the times.

They are not "boys" - and they must play as men. Ideals and ideas wielded freely perpetuates the sharpness of the ability for Discernment. One should defend his conceptual reality as easily as one takes a dump - and with the same resolute calmness should he end up using his hands as paper.

They are dueling on the reality of illusion...and it's companion perceptive quality of the Absolute Mind. One needs to take the stand that everything changes according to the ability to bend perception; the other needs to quantify that particular bending.

I for one see a delicious struggle....and would not throw water on these dogs for a large price. (wink)

Respect due to you both for your valor, gentlemen
Mantis__Knight: Thought is power.
Faith is my control.
When i need to fly i will.
When i "try" i have allready failed.
Also i never claimed any of those gifts.
Simply stated that when plummeting towards the ground I will not give up.
I will not stop fighting.
There is always an answer to every problem.
Some just are not seen because you gave up to soon.
lighthart: (curtsies to the knight for his valor and courage)Well said gentle knight.
«D»: Thought is power, and perseverance is invaluble. I agree with this.

If you do not posses such powers, how do you know that concrete is not solid when you are phased out, buildings are not tall when you fly, or that gravity is defiable?

O.K., here's where I'm coming from.

I have faith that nature is the ultimate authority.
Not a thing is artificial. Artificial is an illusion.
Not a thing defies nature.
Everything done is done through nature's principles, whether understood or not, harmonious or discordant.
Everything is a miracle no matter how ordinary or extraordinary.
Through expanding our awareness we may learn more about our own nature, and work with it to do extraordinary things.
Our awareness doesn't determine nature though, it only determines our awareness of our own nature and capabilities.
If you don't posses confidence/faith that you can do something, you won't do it.
If you do posses confidence/faith that you can do something, you will work with nature to find a way.
You can only move with and discover nature.
No one can create that which is or determine that which is with a thought.
Nature is what nature is no matter what we think of it.
Deny reality, and I have no problems denying your veiw of your reality.
The world does not end with the dream or illusion. The dream or illusion is simply a veil.
Mantis__Knight: There would be are differance.
I have faith that God is the ultimate authority.
Also that as a creation of that God i can do anything.
I just need motivation and direction.
Also i didnt think that an agnostic person would belive in any ultimate authority.
Since they cannot prove or disprove beyond shadow of a doubt that it exists or does not exist.
«D»: I am satisfied beyond all doubt that a reality exists fundamentally and has a nature. This is the reality of change. It alone can not explain occurence though. Alone, the nature of change would be but a senseless chaos. Fortuneately we do not live by such a nature.

Perhaps it is fundamental, perhaps a god was fundamental or arose from the chaos and made it so, but motion occurs. Motion has principles that can tell us why any known event occurs. Motion's principles even allow for extraordinary feats such as walking on water, seeing other places and times, and so forth. Within motion's principles there is a consistent cause and purpose of occurence.

I may not know if the reality of motion is absolute, but I do know that it is now. If it is not absolute, and a god produced it, then this god could suspend the nature of motion to allow broader forms of change to occur. I know of no instance or story where god would have needed to do this though. All the miracles could have been acheived through a mastery of motion. Indeed, no god I have heard of would like to allow change in its broader sense to occur. Change in its broadest sense leads to total chaos, making anything resembling freedom or deliberate action an impossibility. If god produced the reality of motion, I do not think that it would ever deem it necessary to break that reality.

If god exists, I think he would enforce the principles of motion and make sure that they were never broken. Everyone can learn how to use the principles of motion to do incredible things. We have only a scant knowledge of these principles and how we can utilize them.

Jumping or even standing defies gravity with electromagnetism, levitation and flight actually work with gravity and other natural principles. Everything we have acheived has come through cooperation with nature's principles. Whether these principles are absolute, or we are cooperating with God I do not know. I do know that motion and its principles exist at the moment though.
Kellog_Bluff: the Faith of the Knight; the Alchemy of the Magician. Whose posture has more merit? IF the God of ultimate Authority demands faith as the catalyst of action, and Action implies Motion (mind, body, spirit) --- and if the reality of change mandates motion as the vehicle --- then I believe you two are kindred allies in the Ideal that there needs to be a direction - and a directive.

It goes then to an applicational analysis of whose tenets are best verified by our concept of reality, whether faith-driven or scientifically based.

Nice match, gentlemen.
