good evening, and welcome to the SLC weekly Session.  Tonight’s session is titled" Spiritual path and the yellow brick road."  I'll do this in three parts

1) address the text ---- the Creed

2) answer questions recv'd at SLC

3) if time remains - answer open questions.

Kellog_bluff :  This session is titled “Yellow brick road” --- for a reason... as is everything I do here .  See- we all get together to take a trip - to Oz.  Tonight, I'm the old man behind the curtain.

This session - addresses that which we all are looking for. Whether we want a heart, a brain, courage --- or just a way Home.  What we all need - first ---- is Hope.  This Creed --- addresses the way to build that Hope --- and give one a path ... to whatever ya want to ask the wizard for. : OK - let's do this.

First --- why "kellog's" creed?  Simply because this set of instructions is personal enuf for me to share -- based on experience.  Because it works ----  is why I share it.  Over the yrs ---- what is set down here ---- has worked.  period.

I cannot share with folks that which does not work.  It would not befit my training - or my protocol - to do so.  And it would be silly

While I am silly on demand - it is always part of a Bunkai.  This Creed could be called "laurel's creed"; or Isa's… and if you personalized it enuf ---- it would be.

So forgive me the irony of assuming a personalization - of a set of instructions owned by us all.  : Because we do 

The idea of the creed being a set of instructions -- was not a new idea.  It was given to me about 25 yrs ago.  And for about 15 of them, I promptly ignored it.  I thought I didn’t need another's set of text.  So I did what most students do...learn the hard way

What I pass on here - is usually based on that.  Does that make it simpler for you to learn and understand?  Perhaps;  only if you take this stuff to "heart"…and make it personal.  It has to "fit" for you.  It has to work - for you.  If any spirit path cannot be used ---- here, now, tonight...it has little value in the Wurld.  Without value --- how are you going to use it as a path?

One of the goals of this Creed is to build personal power.  If this Creed cannot do that for you---- you should avoid it as the plague.   As long as you have a Creed --- and it works for you, based on your Etiquette and Intent...then you should follow it.  Use this text as reference -  or to tile the bathroom.  As long as it's useful in your Journey.

So - I will touch on each of the 10 sections.  I could take an hour on each section easily J;  so I will take about 5 minutes.  Old saying - if it takes 1000 words, and 100 of them are valid - use 50.  We'll do that tonight.

Tonight - is a chat around the fire.  No deviations, no Bunkai,  no oblique stuff that Burns ya.  This is a chance to talk - straight - about what you've read.  Because - sometimes ---- ya need a welcome hand; and ya don’t get it often from me !!!!  

I hope the fact that there are ten precepts didn’t slip by ya.  yah yah yah.  The ten commandments and all that.  It's not a coincidence.  Ain’t nothing wrong with the number 10---numerologists will tell ya that.  Actually - in this case -- the ten correspond to the ten Dan ranks in a system  called - floating hand.  From 1st level Dan - to tenth.  The items - correspond to what the adept needs to learn - at each level.   But you can pick and choose as you wish ---- order is personal - like everything else.

So----Creed item #1.  This is about free will - and manipulation; and the idea that you Don’t want it.  The way to enlightenment - is not thru another's manipulation.  It is thru your own mind's eye and your actions.  Allowing someone else to make your decisions --- is the beginning of stagnation for you.  Of course - there is a middle ground between following ideas, and being a sheep.  And You are responsible for finding that middle ground.  And it's about that choice.

OK --- Creed item #2.  Laurel asks - why are we all masters?  She doesn’t feel like one; and that's OK, MSS L --- you're not supposed to right now.  You're in the sandbox --- where there ain’t no masters.  We are all traveling down a path...and the mastership is at the end of the path...or even at the middle...but it ain’t here - yet.  And it ain’t supposed to be.  Calling yourself a master - in this Wurld  - is like wearing the clown hat to the costume ball;  everyone wonders - is That the clown I ordered from Webvan?

And of those who do, call themselves masters; ask them the relevance...make sure to identify what they use for a definition...it may be that they don’t use the word in the same way...or simply a title as part of a ceremony.  As I said  - use caution.  There are far too many "self titled masters", in martial arts - and in occult circles.  But #2 is about humility.  Always remember who you are --- and who you Aren't.

So, Creed item #3  is about paying attention to your surroundings.  Guess what --- there are People out there.  And some of them have some things to say...that might help you.  Might not ---- but you wont know till you LISTEN.  The idea of stretching your limitations....is the idea to Freedom spiritually.  You cannot Grow - until you stretch your limitations;  and you cannot do That  - unless you allow new ideas inside. 

This - is the risk.   some of those ideas can cause pain, and suffering.  So - ya wanna go softly.

 But don’t let the fear stop you.  If your Path allows for new ideas...it sounds decent - in that respect.  If your path is too strict and rigid to allow for strange ideas to be discussed; then we're talking about YOU, child.

And on to Creed item #4.  Pay chilled scrupulous attention.  What in carnations is that?  Yeah yeah.

 OK.  Ya get the secret spilled, tonight.  This is a power phrase.  It’s used in training --- in occult circles, and in kuri-kyu and in floating hand, and in other systems.  The words aren’t important - for the comparison --- it is the grouping that is important.  This - when given to the student or adept ----- is a Bunkai.

So - here is the breakdown of the phrase.  The phrase is meant to ignite your focus, spiritually, and provide a mechanism to build power - or to use it ---- or to simply gather yourself together....much like a prayer. except this is non-denominational. 

"pay" - means to earn what you gain,  by performing actions.  When discussing astral

pay means performance;  action.

chilled= without emotion or attachment.

scrupulous = details

attention = focus

 So - putting all four together....your performance - without emotional attachments - with focus on the details of your etiquette - and focus to your protocol with the world.  It is a Bunkai - that if you pull the words apart ---- you get less out of it - then if you simply let it "hit" you and ignite you into some action.  The idea is you are stimulated into some thought or action.  If it works.

OK - those are the first 5.  Let me do a question, now.  First question: "are we all on a path"?

 Yes, mantis J  Even if you don’t see it.  Whether we know it or not --- you are on a path.  And it is excruciatingly – yours; your personal path.  

Next Question: 'Does seeing the path make it more difficult?"  sometimes...a little data is sometimes a mean thing;  when we are innocent and ignorant --- we can make all the mistakes we want.  Once we start to take responsibility for what we Seek --- it becomes less useful to be ignorant.  So - if you are sharp enuf to Know what your path is --- I'd advise you to have a game plan.

Finally,  "why do you spell world - Wurld?"  ha ha ha.  three reasons.  One --- I am making fun of the World.  Two - I am leaving a footprint in the sand - for my colleagues; a subtle one.  Cuz we don’t like to leave footprints All over the place.  And three ---- is a Secret 

OK - I have a few minutes for open questions.  So - anyone have any?

Laurelovely01 : so how do you go about creating a game plan?

Kellog_bluff : ah;  how do you create a game plan”  By first building your Etiquette.  Figure out what "you" wanna be about.  'who are you"?  What do you stand for?  What Burns ya?  Etiquette is your agreement with yourself, on how you will spend this time in the Wurld.  Ya gotta get that down first.  And it changes through out your life.  So ya  gotta be flexible enuf to understand the little changes --- from the biggies.  It Ain’t easy...but it needs to be done.   If ya wanna call this ethics - go ahead.  It’s a decent place ta start.  Once ya have an etiquette  that you can live with ....you define your Intent.

Intent is to Etiquette - as cadillac is to cars.  It is Specifically what you want.  A certain single thing or two.  Ya need to make this as clear as you can get it.  If ya want to manifest things --- ya can’t have a laundry list with 20 items on it.  You can do 20 items...but not all at once.  You just aren’t sharp enuf -  in this world - to do them all. - at once.  So you do them in small bunches.  And you can get them done this way. 

So - ya got etiquette - ya got what you Want ---- now build the protocol to Get it done.  Protocol is your agreement with the Wurld.  It is how you take action.  It is performance.  period.

Kellog_bluff : yep,  it is;  but you need to personalize it.  Specifics are all yours to build.  The technique will work for both you and I.  But How you use it --- is all up to you.  There is a new text on SLC about the Bunkai "pay chilled scrupulous attention."  I invite you to read it.

I'll finally - now - say a few words about Bunkai.

Folks always wonder why I’m such the asshole.  Simple.  I am here ---- to get you to THINK.  You won’t do it unless you get boosted; in the ass - in the head...somewhere where it isn’t pretty or comfortable or what you expected.  Folks who want to learn – can’t always choose the method.  Sometimes the method is chosen for them, as an opportunity, and its up to them....to pay attention..or not.  After all - we all have free will to turn down new ideas,  and we exercise it constantly;  and that's OK.

My purpose - in using Bunkai,  is to get around that limitation --- and get to your minds' eye - directly.  That is done - thru emotional action;  upsetting your equilibrium, upsetting your calm.  And then ---  if your ready for it--- after you calm down or start thinking...you begin to use a New perspective....another way of seeing what was unsee-able.

And you grow; at your speed. at your rate, in your space --- and you use what is useful...for you.

That - is the essence of applicational Bunkai.

 It is the technique within the technique.  It takes the Kata - and shows you the application.  Martial arts -- life --- love --- hate ---- and spirituality.  It's all part of the learning game; the Life game.  And the game  - is yours to own.  

So - if I piss you off....it is expected - and planned...and great fun for me. And it should be - for you too. 

Your Path - whatever it is -  should allow you to laugh, every day, in your personal way.  My way - in Bunkai.
