this is spoken very rapidly, you probably need to follow the text.

Yucatán

When we visit the Yucatán
We'll be covered in coral reef
Along white sands where life began

We will rent a catamaran
Sail in Eden on a fig leaf
When we visit the Yucatán

And next to you, on a divan,
Dream the rain forest in relief
Along white sands where life began

Then in bars and dots of Mayan
Math, the stardome will be our fief
When we visit the Yucatán

We will carve pictographs of man
And woman on bark codices
Along white sands where life began

There no one, no one but you can
Name the sunrise of my belief
When we visit the Yucatán
Along white sands where life began.

5/6/01, a villanelle.

Hi Susan...
Oh, I read your "Yucatan" many times.
I can see the villanelle going around.
And I stopped to look at 'codices' and was introduced to the Mayan Codices, but I do not know yet why these Mayan Codices were found in such foreign places as Paris. Apparently, papyrus manuscripts.

I tried reading it aloud fast, and could not figure out why you said that.
I suppose it is only effective if sound is on.

Good reading!
Thanks
"Meanders"

i had to record it at a rapid pace in order to upload decent sound quality.
so the words are printed out, just in case someone needed to follow along.

you don't have to read it too fast.  always read at the rate comfortable for you.
