On June 20, U2 Graffiti Wall turned 5 years old!

First, we would like to thank all the members. Without you, this would be just another group like any other. You make this a place where we want to be.

Peace, love and lots of U2,

Secondly, as part of our celebration, we asked Wallers what they most liked about being a part of this group. This is what they said....

(If you would like to add your comments, please leave a message HERE, and what you say will be posted on this page.)

From Susan (IMAU2FANRU):  I'm very grateful to say that I've been a member here since Nov. of '04 & can't think of a better u2 fan related site I'd be as honored to be a part of than The Wall. Our managers here put so much of their time & effort into making this place what it is today & that's why it has survived for as long as it has. Not only that but, they are all very caring, very witty & very compassionate.

Happy 5th Birthday U2 Graffiti Wall!

From JennMullen: Happy 5th Bday Wall!

I love the Wall because it's the best U2-related site I've seen. It's respectful of the band. But most of all, I love the Wall because of it's members. They are without a doubt the best out there! When I first joined I was reluctant to post, but when I started posting everyone made me feel welcome and like I'd always been a member. You guys are the best, and you make the Wall what it is!

From UnhitchedWildhorsey: Let me start my comments about being a Waller by saying that I think of all U2 fans as a very large world-wide group in itself.  What I think The Wall excels in is giving those fans an excellent out-let in which to both have fun, and not be made fun of. I take my U2 fandom seriously. I don't think many of the beliefs and issues U2 address are anything to joke about. That said at the same time they are fun guys; and I like to have fun talking about their music and tours. Outsiders don't "get" the love and loyalty of U2 fans. They maybe don't see that special value we see in joining the U2 family. At this group we all "get" each other.

Another thing to point out which I believe makes this group better than average is the relationship between its management and members. To be a great group there has to exist a symbiosis between managers and members. If that exists as it does here; posting increases and members grow. And what I mean by growth is not simply in numbers, but in what they are willing to share with the group and what skills they choose to bring to the group. I have seen members come into this group and grow in the amount they post, and who have shared great talents; which enhance this group tremendously. Management have to converse and be welcoming and encouraging in group posting; and show a desire to expand the group. This happens here, and it makes this U2 experience pleasant, non-threatening, and educating as well as fun entertainment.

Personally I am glad to have the opportunity to share the things I contribute here at the Wall, and to read all the posts of fellow Wallers. I love that the group is so varied. It is set up so that there are great discussions you can post at length on, or you can write reviews...but at the same time a casual poster can have fun with a game or look at pics, and maybe post one. You can be involved at the level you wish and not be any less a Waller. There is something for everyone.

I am glad to have The Wall and to be a Waller

From hj: Congratulations!

You all make this a wonderful place and here's to 5 more great years!

From Moongoddess: Five years is quite an accomplishment, and I'd say a great tribute not only to the band, but to the members here at the Wall.  I joined the group in 2005, part-way between the first and second time I saw the boys in concert.  I felt welcome right away - I shared my hesitance about posting, and was encouraged to jump right in.  I did, and from that point on there was no turning back!  I've seen, and even been a part of other U2 groups and none of them compare to the Wall.  I have never felt as welcomed, or so much a part of an actual online family than I do here.  I know that I can share my love and respect for the band, have a laugh, view some amazing pictures, post my thoughts on lyrics, events, concerts, albums, news, and the Wallers will *get* it.  And, as important as that, I know I can post personal things - events in my life, family happenings, personal photos - and know that everyone genuinely cares.  So Cheers to the Wall, to its members, to the band for being the reason we're all here, and to five more amazing years of friendship and U2ey love!

From Blkjak: It's been 5 years? Wow!!! Happy Birthday to the Wall!!!

Marie- what a beautiful words you wrote about the Wall & your experience here!!! It definitely wouldn't be the same without you here, or any of the other Wallers!!!

You guys are more than just friends to me & I consider you all to be family. No matter how bad a day any of us are having, we know that we can all count on one another to be there for each other. I just wish that I could be around more!!!
LOL

I you guys & congrats to all of us on 5 awesome years, and as Susan said, here's to many more!!!
