"October" tour - november 3, 1981- U2 perform in Hamburg, Germany at the Fabrik. U2 are billed appearing with "The Psychedelic Furs". Because the Furs were not allowed to do a soundcheck, they do not perform, alienating a large portion of the crowd. The crowd gets rowdy and during "Gloria" something is thrown onstage. Bono stops the song, and dresses down the crowd. During "I Will Follow", a few fans start an altercation with some other fans. Bono yells, "This isn't a circus, right? Hey you! Shall I tell you something about violence? I come from a country where violence is real, not pretend violence..." The Edge starts the song again, but within a minute another fight breaks out. Bono stops the song, again adressing the crowd, and The Edge starts again. U2 do not return for an encore.

"The Unforgettable Fire" tour - november 3, 1984 - U2 perform in London, England at Brixton Academy. On the second night, the pushing and shoving get so bad that members of the audience jump onto the stage. The show is the first in the UK, and is panned by many previous U2 supporters in the press. David Quantick of NME writes, "The most boring band in the world. There may be groups equally as dull, but I fail to see how any of them can be worse." Support is "The Waterboys".

"The Joshua Tree" tour - november 3, 1987 - U2 perform in St. Paul, Minnesota at the Civic Center. The band appear tired and do not give their usual enthusiastic performance--the crowd are restless as a result. At the end of "40", Bono swings a spotlight around and around, scaring members of the band, crew and the audience. Support is "The BoDeans".

"Press Conference in Auckland Airport" - november 3, 1989 - U2 and B.B. King hold a press conference in Auckland, New Zealand at Auckland Airport. Several members of the press are not familiar with U2's music and ask silly questions. Press: "Would you ever do a Beatles cover?" Bono: "We already did...Go to the back of the class!"

"ZOOTV - Outside Broadcast" tour - november 3, 1992 - U2 perform in Vancouver, B.C., Canada at B.C. Place Stadium. The concerts take place on the night before and the night of the US Presidential Elections. The screens flash "AND NOW A WORD FROM OUR SPONSOR" after "The Fly". "Our sponsor is not Texaco or Ross Perot...tonight our sponsors are the good people of Vancouver!" While flipping, Bono comes across Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton making a speech and wishes him Good Luck. The band seem tired and uninspired. Larry misses his cue for "Pride(In The Name Of Love)" and Bono throws his microphone at him in anger. The band quickly leave the stage after the song, and during the encore Bono pauses to thank "Adam, Edge, and ESPECIALLY Larry for letting me be in their band."

Bono appears at 'Woodstock of Global Health' - november 3, 2005. Bono appears via videotape from Los Angeles at the TIME magazine 2005 Global Health Summit in New York. He calls the event the "Woodstock of global health." His comments echo a familiar refrain. “A world without malaria and TB is no longer unthinkable,�?Bono says. “A world without AIDS or extreme poverty is no longer unimaginable. Now more than ever we in the West need to show the rest of the world what we stand for as well as what we stand against. We are the first generation that can look extreme poverty and disease in the eye and change it.�?His segment was recorded a day earlier prior to U2's concert at the Staples Center.

Bono duets with Alicia Keys - november 3, 2005. On a day off from the Vertigo Tour, Bono still manages to slip in a vocal performance. He appears via satellite at Blackball 2005 in New York City. The event is a fund raiser for Alicia Keys' foundation Keep a Child Alive. Keys sits at the piano in the Lincoln Center while Bono appears on an overhead screen from Los Angeles. They sing Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up."

U2 in Australia - November 3, 2006 - Edge signs fan's shirt: Guitarist, Dave "The Edge" Evans says they haven't finalised their set for their Aussie gigs, "it'll take us a while, it'll take us a few shows. We have a few ideas in the works but nothing I can tell you right now". Sign language, The Edge leaves his mark on a fan's shirt, here. Bono reward for patience Nine hours later, as Bono and the band flew north to Brisbane for a soundcheck before Tuesday's concert, Karen Stuart, 31, and Chris Reaves, 18, were driving home with differing tales. One of woe, the other joy. ... The exit was clear except for Ms Stuart, who lived in Dublin in 1997 and worked in a restaurant owned by Bono. When her hero walked in to his restaurant one day, Ms Stuart ignored all protocol and asked to have her picture taken with him. Bono did not mind then and he did not mind yesterday when he signed the photo from 1997 and talked with Ms Stuart. Later in the day, about 120 people, from toddlers to grandparents, lined obediently around the hotel driveway. Each band member came out and signed autographs, kissed babies and talked to fans.
