UPDATE - NOVEMBER 25: during Edge´s solo in "Electric Co." / Band-Aid records "Do They Know It´s Christmas?" / a song to the people of China, to the brave ones who filled a square in Beijing / the guitar malfunctioned, but he was great / 98th 'VERTIGO' show / U2 is 2nd and Stones 1st / Kiwi hospitality / 127th VERTIGO SHOW: New Zealand  !

"October" tour - november 25, 1981 - U2 perform in Asbury Park, New Jersey at the Hitsville South Nightclub. During Edge´s solo in Electric Co. Bono assaults the piano, playing a few tunes made up on the spot. He lets himself fall into the crowd and floats backwards on the sea of outstretched hands before he is pushed back on stage. During Out Of Control he again plays the piano. The second performance of I Will Follow is an added bonus for the over-excited crowd.

Band-Aid records "Do They Know It´s Christmas?" - november 25, 1984 -SARM studios in London, England. Thirth-six artists, including Bob Geldof, Sting, U2´s Bono and Adam (Edge was ill) and Heaven 17, took part in the session. Geldof wrote the song with Midge Ure of Ultravox after seeing a BBC special on Africa.

"LoveTown" tour - november 25, 1989 - U2 perform in Tokyo, Japan at the Tokyo Dome. This is the closest U2 come to playing China, where millions of students had gathered in Tiannamen Square to protest their Communist government. At the start of "Love Rescue Me" on the first night, Bono announces, "Rock & Roll cannot change things, people change things. But rock & roll belongs to the people. People will make the changes. We play this song for East Berlin, for Czechoslovakia, for the people behind the Iron Curtain, who brought about change with no violence. Our music belongs to those people. We dedicate this next song to the people of China, to the brave ones who filled a square in Beijing..."

"ZOOTV Outside Broadcast" tour - november 25, 1992 - Mexico City Mexico Palacio de Los Deportes. U2 play the last show for this part of the tour, backing to Europe in may 1993 to ZOOTV Zooropa tour.

"Elevation" tour - november 25, 2001 - Dallas, TX - Reunion Arena. A higlight song of the night was "Bullet the Blue Sky" because Edge's guitar malfunctioned, and Bono improvised some lyrics so that Edge could fix the problem and then belt out the most angry, gut-wrenching solo I've ever heard from him. Wonder!

98th 'VERTIGO' show - November 25, 2005 / Ottawa, Canada - Corel Centre - The Arcade Fire - City of Blinding Lights, Vertigo, Elevation, I Will Follow, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - In a Little While, Beautiful Day - Many Rivers to Cross, Original of the Species, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, Love and Peace or Else, Sunday Bloody Sunday - Rock the Casbah, Bullet the Blue Sky, Miss Sarajevo, Pride, Where the Streets Have No Name, One. Encore(s): Until the End of the World, Mysterious Ways, With or Without You, Stuck In a Moment You Can't Get Out Of, Yahweh, 40. Bono brings fans on stage three times, including a young boy during Sunday Bloody Sunday who sings the 'No more' chorus with great enthusiasm. The 'pixel panel' light curtains malfunction during Vertigo and Original of the Species.

U2 is 2nd and Stones 1st - November 25, 2006 - Though they'll surely live to fight another day, U2's brief stint holding the title of top-grossing tour ever is over. That distinction now returns to the Rolling Stones, whose A Bigger Bang tour is now the top-grossing tour in history. From March 28, 2005, to March 2, 2006, U2's Vertigo tour rang up grosses of more than $333 million. That put U2 ahead of the Stones' $320 million Voodoo Lounge tour of 1994-95, and the band's 10 stadium makeup shows this month will take the total to 121 shows and a gross of about $377 million. But the Stones' numbers from their global A Bigger Bang tour shatter that mark. Since the fall of 2005, the band has grossed a staggering $437 million and drawn 3.5 million people to 110 shows. In addition, an estimated crowd of 2 million saw the band perform at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro back in February. The tour, like every Stones trek since 1989, is produced by Michael Cohl under the Concert Productions International banner, with Live Nation. ... On billboard

Kiwi hospitality ... November 25, 2006 - While in New Zealand, Bono and guitarist The Edge treated themselves to Kiwi hospitality and stayed on the luxurious Michael Fay-owned Great Mercury Island in the Coromandel. The island is 20km off the Coromandel coast, but only a 25-minute trip by helicopter from Auckland city. It costs about $20,000 a day to hire. here

127th VERTIGO SHOW - November 25, 2006 -  Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland - New Zealand - City Of Blinding Lights / Vertigo-She Loves You (Snippet) / Elevation / Until The End Of The World / I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For-In A Little While (Snippet) / Beautiful Day-Blackbird (Snippet) / Angel Of Harlem / Walk On-Never Walk Alone (Snippet) / Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own / Bad-40 (Snippet) / Sunday Bloody Sunday / Bullet The Blue Sky-Johnny Come's Marchin' Home Again (Snippet)-The Hands That Built America (Snippet) / Miss Sarajevo / Pride (In The Name Of Love) / Where The Streets Have No Name / One / ENCORE BREAK: The Fly-(I Can't Go No) Satisfaction (Snippet) / Mysterious Ways / With Or Without You / The Saints Are Coming / Desire / ONE TREE HILL!!  U2-Vertigo-tour - Bono Dons O'Driscolls Shirt in New Zealand - New Zealand fans were over the moon as Bono came out dressed in an All Black Rugby Shirt with their captains number 7 on it in Auckland tonight. At the end of The Saints Are Coming he pointed at his All Black shirt and asked the crowd "Do you know who this is?". The crowd roared as Bono proceeded to change his All Black jersey, revealing a green Irish rugby jersey sporting the number 13. "Do you know who this is?" A show of Irish solidarity with Brian O'Driscoll, the Irish number 13 who had his collar bone broken against New Zealand in 2005, in a tackle with then captain Tana Umaga. On U2.com
