"LoveTown" tour - december 16, 1989 - Dortmund, Germany. The third night is drastically different from the first two--Bono's voice is suffering severely. During the encore, Bono introduces B.B.King´s band, wishes them a Happy Christmas. While Edge is aching to start "Angel Of Harlem", Bono sings "White Christmas", surprising everybody including the band; Edge looks on bewildred while the crowd pick up the song and Bono joins in again to bring it to an exhilaring end. During "Love Rescue Me", Bono is unable to continue and gestures to the band that his throat is bothering him. He misses complete lines and is clearly in pain. He motions everyone forward at the end of the song to come for a bow--the crowd start cheering and then start to boo the band. Backstage, Bono is clearly distraught at not being able to continue, but his voice is so bad he cannot formulate the words to apologize. Support is B.B. King.
