"Stand by me" on (RED)wire is about the roots of Mother Africa's music and all her many babies. Blues, Jazz, Reggae, R & B, Rock, HipHop, etc. Shout out for the New Orleans performers.

If you have not read Ted Gioia's book DELTA BLUES check it out. It contains several references to U2 and how they revere the old blues men and women. For blues fans (like me), this book is going to become a classic history. Some passages will break your heart. the Mississippi Delta was and continues to be a hard place for most of its citizens. Like Africa itself, great artistry in the Delta comes from adversity.

Did ya see the blues segment on the Kennedy Center Honors? It was to honor actor Morgan Freeman, a Mississippi native. The Who were also honored. They have also had a 'little bit' of influence on U2. Way , way cool.

Dori whenever I hear "Heartland" I imagine being in the south--I have never been there but I dream of sitting on the banks of the Mississippi one day.
