***Conclusion: Believers should not be idle or ignorant of signs around us. We should remember that Christ's return is impending. It could be at anytime. We should go about our days living for all that is right, and keeping a watchful eye to the heavens(both literal and in spiritual matters). We should wait and hope on the Lord.

U2/'Surrender'

Biblical= *John 3:3--Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.  Also *Romans 8:13, *Romans 10:9, *Jeremiah 4:3 and *Romans 6:11--Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

*** If we want a total rebirth in Christ we must put to death our own selfishness. If we try to cultivate a Christian life among the thorns of sin; our spiritual garden will not prosper. We have to be born again and lay aside all our wordly sinful nature which tempts us back into sin. We must surrender our own will and follow God's will for our lives. How will we know what that is? If you accept Christ you have The Holy Spirit within you. Pray for guidance and direction and you will be led. You will know and sense what is right. You will feel what is right for you, and what would be pleasing to God. If we truly surrender God will lead us down a path right for us.

 

*Matthew 16:26--For what a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

I was reading a Bible passage last night and some of the refrains of U2's 'Original Of The Species' popped up in my mind. The passage was *Matthew Chapter 18: Verses 1-5. The song line was: ' I want the lot of what you got/And I want nothing that you're not'. It seems to me that what we need to keep alive in our hearts is the simplicity of a child. The innocence, and the wonder. The ability to be meek,  humble, and unquestioning. These things are what Christ desired we hold in our hearts. I believe there is not one faith or religion which does not uphold the pure heart of a child. Oh that we should believe as a child does.

 

 This is my prayer today. Pray along if you would like, or pray in your own way:

 Dear Lord Jesus, I pray you fill my heart with humility. I long for you to see me as your beloved child, and know that you are watching over me always. May I always seek truth and innocence. Help me to know what is right and good in your eyes. I pray this in your holy name; Amen.

 I sometimes long to be a very small child back before we had so many pre-conceptions, and worries; and before we questioned everything. I think it is a beautiful concept to think of the freedom of a childlike mind-set. Certainly Christ referred to this in his ministry on Earth and it is referenced in several U2 songs as well.

I have an who aunt sings often in her church, and at other church "singsperations" and that is "her song" she does.
