The show at the Staples center was totally awesome. My night started out at the Standard, a very pish-posh restaurant. I dined next to David Spade and Kid Rock.
I missed Kings of Leon again, but got to my seat just in time for the boys to go on. It was a completely different opening w/ confetti falling. It drove the crowd wild. My seats were side view and surprisingly close to the stage. Bono seemed to have so much energy he could hardly contain himself. He was shouting and running around like a wild man. The entire band seemed to have it together not like the other night at the Pond. Bono shared a beautiful story of time when he met Pope John Paul. He also took a search light and shown it on the crowd in the nose bleed seats. He paid a lot of attention to the fans behind the stage.
When they played Vertigo and Elevation back to back, it really got the crowd going.
After two hours and 22 songs later, the boys left the stage one by one. I stayed and watched as the crew began to take down the lights and stage? On to the next venue. On to making countless fans very, very happy.
I am posting a few pictures from the show in the photo album and I also have a few short videos from my camera. If you would like to have me send you videos, just send me an email.
