Let's just start off this little review or whatever it should be called , by saying that as all the Detroit Papers say in reviews this AM..U2 are unmatched in their performance of a rock show ;and in their ability to grab the audience and pull them into the show itself. All of the guys were top notch last night..I mean ALL AROUND. I thought that Bono looked like he particularly was having a good-fun time...smiling and laughing outright during Elevation and Stuck In A Moment(when he flubbed some at the beginning..which the crowd, and Edge laughed at too). Edge..what can I say? I am personally AMAZED at the man's guitar playing! He too was very animated..working the catwalk so to speak. His solos during One and Bullet The Blue Sky were phenominal. Highlights( FOR ME)..were just simply that they did Miracle Drug, and Walk On(which I was hoping for last night) and the 3rd(not always done) verse to One was executed with a sereal beauty last night. I LOVE that 3rd verse! Bono as I said was in good voice and handled the opera on Miss Sarajevo with sounding applause from the crowd on hand. The crowd itself was very into the show..much more so than I recall at PopMart..and with a liveliness that wasn't quite on as full during the Elevation Tour(not because it wasn't a fab show..just more serious tones, I think). I love the War/Anti war segment of the show with the combo of Love And Peace Or Else/Sunday Bloody Sunday/ Bullet The Blue Sky. This segment/section of the show is simply breathtaking in every aspect..the light display/the guitar/the lyrics/the pounding rythyms/the crowd's fever! It is a standout that isn't too common in shows..the get up and change the world energy! It may have been a cold and wet October day..but inside the Palace it was warming and familiar and great to be in commune with our guys! P.S. THOSE SEATS ROCKED! VERY CLOSE! NO COMPLAINTS FROM THIS PROPAGANDER!
Wooooohooooo!!!!!! I'm so happy for you Unhitched that you got to see the band & they put on such a superlative performance for you. What an awesome review ty
