I went to see U2 for the 3rd and final time this tour on Monday. It was only describable as bittersweet. I LOVED the show, as i knew i would, but knowing inside it may be a long time before i see them again was very sad. I took my dad to this show, i had gotten him the ticket for a birthday present. He was very excited and he loved every minute of it. It was so cool, seeing as he has liked them for years too, but to see him asking me so many questions after and then wanting me to bring the DVD over so he could see it again.
The performance was amazing, as always. Bono's voice was magical! I can't get over how well he sings opera. Third time seeing it live and it never fails to send shivers up my spine and throughout my entire body to hear him hit that one note. I honestly think i could sit through and enjoy a full opera if he was performing. And...And...the song i had been waiting for since the day the album came out was performed!!! My God i wanted to hear that song so bad, for so long! I had already seen them twice, first in Philly in May, then again in D.C. in October and hadn't had the privilidge of hearing it yet, but finally, the 3rd time was definetly the charm. The song i am speaking of is 'Original of the Species.' It has been my favorite since the first time i heard it. And i'm sorry to say i can't put a description into words. All i can say is that it was everything i imagined it to be and more. I felt like no one before.
