Oh gosh! Where do I start??? This is just gonna be "one of those days" I guess. One of my good friends lives in Alaska and one of her kids has some major growth problems. He is 13 yrs. old and only weighs 66 lbs!! How's that for starters?? She has struggled for several years to get the doctors to do something, but all they will do is change is thyroid meds now and then. He eats huge meals and they're very good meals. He doesn't eat hardly any junk foods and even drinks those nutritional drinks that are out on the market. When you see him in his swimsuit he is boney as all git out. It looked like my girlfriend had finally found a doc that was going to pursue this and do something to help the kid, but then the insurance co. stepped in and won't allow it because they feel it's not a matter of life or death!! So anyway, she's been extremely upset this morning and I've been trying to settle her down so that she can approach this without coming unglued.
Then last night my son almost got himself arrested because his fiance's ex boyfriend and some of his punky buddys were in Applebee's, where my son had taken her for dinner, and they were hasseling Corey and Jen. The ex walked over to their table, touched Jen on the shoulder and called her a couple of choice names and then reached over and gave Corey a good shove. That was all Corey was going to take and he stood up and punched the punk in the face with his face, breaking his nose. No, he didn't just break his nose. His nose was laying against his cheek! Then, of course, a couple of the ex's buds decided they were going to "step in" and defend the ex. Gawd! It ended up with 3 guys with broken noses (because my son punched them too....after they took the first swing at him) leaving because they were told to never go into that restaurant again and Corey got a lecture from the police about controlling his temper while they made him sit on the floor in handcuffs. Thankfully some of the other folks that were there and the restuarant manager stuck-up for Corey and he was released with just the lecture, but that wasn't the end of it. I've gotten 3 phone calls this morning threatening to beat the you know what out of my son if he doesn't dump his fiance. Now if that isn't just way beyond rediculous, I don't know what is. I called the police after the second one and they were here and listening on the speaker phone when the third one came in. By now, Jen's ex is probably sitting in jail though. It just ticks me off though that the cops had the gall to lecture Corey about controlling his temper when there were several folks that tried to tell them that he took WAY too much from those punks before he took a single punch to 3 of them. They actually told him that he was taking advantage of the fact that he's tall and muscular!! Between this stuff and the fact that I've not been getting much sleep and am run down because of it, I'm about ready to blow a gasket! Anybody got anyone that needs to be told off???? I'll bet cha I could do a good job of it right now!! Lordy! And in about an hour I HAVE to conduct an activities committee meeting here at the clubhouse so we can finish planning the parties and other activities for the rest of the year! I just hope that the trouble makers that usually show up at these meetings don't put in an appearance today! Gawd, that's all I'd need! Oh geez! My aide just called and said she's not feeling well (AGAIN) so she's not coming over today unless I really need her. NOW, what am I suppossed to say to that? She's sick! I can't tell her "WEll, that's too bad darlin' but you need to get over here and do your work." She has been sick, off and on, for almost 2 months now, but refuses to go see a doctor about it. Says all they do is tell her to take it easy for a few days and give her some pills -- that she doesn't like to take. She's a full grown adult and doesn't like to take pills! Ssshheessshhhh!!! No, she doesn't choke on them or anything like that. She says that taking pills just adds more responsibilities to her life and she's got enough of those already. Gawd Moki, who have you gotten yourself hooked up with dearie???
Ok, I should quit with the whinning and having a temper tantrum and get my clothes changed and my hair braided because I need to leave for that meeting in about 10 minutes. Wish me luck!
