I have been reading a lot lately and have so enjoyed books of James Patterson and Patricia Cornwell.  Detectives, police and forensics, I really have enjoyed them so much, I just wanted to let you know.  You might also!

Your right they both are good.  I have so many books that range from mushy to really scary.  I usually get them at flea markets and then end up giving them to the hospital I go to to have my blood drawn every week.  I need it because I am on blood thinners.  In fact thats about the only thing thin on me.  lol  Maybe that really isn't a good idea though the mushy one might cause a heart problem and the scary ones might cause the same thing.  I never thought of that.

Sylvia Brown is interesting isn't she.  I watch her on Montel and I think she is different.  I really don't believe that people can talk to the dead  or see them.  It kinds like the Edwards guy.  I think its a scam.  What do you think?  I also am a fan of Dean Kuntz.  He is different with just the right amount of scare.

i guess i am different i try not to have a favorite author cause it makes me read lots of different types of books...i find that i get more variety that way.....and i am really really behind in reading right now.....but it must be a good book cause i still remember where i left off....sometimes i dont and have to reread a portion to get me back in the book...

I also tend to read whatever catches my fancy.  Usually I'm into non-fiction though I have doggedly stuck with a very long (9+ books and counting) series by Laurell K. Hamilton.  Not for the faint hearted, it's about vampires, werewolves etc. and a fair amount of gore and violence.  I have no clue why I read them, as it's kind of funny that I read her books, because I cannot STAND the heroine of the series, at all.  It's the seconday characters that keep me coming back.  Don't care for her forensic descriptions of s-e-x either, though others love it.  I'm just not into reading s-e-x.  But the supernatural stuff I enjoy.  I read her other series about fairies too.   Again, not sure why....

I think Dean Koontz is a crackerjack author...his stuff translates well to tv movies and movies.  Stephen King...oh dear.  The man truly does bore me.  I don't know why.  Edgar Allen Poe scares the bleep out of me, or used to, haven't read him in years.  I love Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie books/movies, often watch them.  Anybody see Ten Little Indians? Soooo cool movie.

So far as talking to the dead goes...I'm not into seances and all that stuff but since childhood I've been aware when spirits/dead people are around.  They only make themselves known to me now and then...I just know somebody is there.  I know exactly where they're standing though I can't see them and once I concentrate on them I know who it is as surely as I'd recognize the scent of vanilla or peppermint.

They tend to send either thoughts to my mind, generally brief, or emotions, before leaving again.  For example the day after my sister passed away I was going from the bedroom to the kitchen and stopped in midstride between them.  I turned and knew my sister was standing/hovering in the middle of the living room looking right at me. I couldn't see her, never do see them.  I felt waves of friendship, love and affection from her then she headed out the side window, I presume to go to my brother's house where her kids were, to check on them.  She was just saying good-bye.  (for now)

Stuff like that isn't scary or spooky at all to me and I DO believe there are MANY scams out there.  So be careful before paying anybody to find somebody for you.  I don't go hunt spirits out.  If they need to contact me (it's always friends, relatives, though one cat also showed up) they know where to find me.

It's been part of my life for so long I think nothing of it. Some of my kids are also aware when spirits are around, like my father-in-law after he passed. I was aware of his presence 4 different times during the stay with relatives and the funeral.  If they don't need to leave a message or make contact they don't.  So far as evil spirits...brrrrrrr.  I would never go hunt for them though I absolutely know they are out there.  Which is probably why I avoid movies and books about them!  yep, that figures.....

Anyways, sorry to go on so long.

Tinsel
