G'morning Missy! Gosh, but my body does NOT want to wake-up today! I've been out of bed for over and hour now, but keep dozing back off into dreamland while I'm sitting here. So, decided I'd come in here and maybe I can concentrate and get some posts answered. Some days it seems to take me forever to actually wake-up. I roam around in the haze-like state.....LOL!!
Hun, you need to eat right every day when you're diabetic. It's important to keep those sugar levels where they belong. I know, I know, it's not an easy job sometimes -- I'm diabetic too, but we've got to do it. I still have times where I don't feel like fixing something to eat, but the alternative is not something I want, so I do it.
Your son sounds alot like mine. I told him the other day that it was a shame that he didn't do all the fussing at his house like he does at mine. His place would be immaculate then! LOL!! I know, he keeps an eye on things because he loves me, but there's such a thing as smothering love and that's what he does. He smothers me.
Your family quilt sounds really kewl!! I've thought of doing that myself, but I don't know who's talking to who in those groups anymore so I'd probably get all the names wrong anyway. I used to love to quilt, but my eyes have a hard time seeing well enough to deal with all of those teeny-tiney stitches you have to make when finishing it.
How did I lose the weight huh? I didn't do that much I don't think. I did eliminate the snack foods and 99% of the Pepsi that I used to drink, but I think most of my weight loss was due to my thyroid levels being back within the normal range again. I have Hashimoto's Disease so my thyroid was totally whacked out for several years. Now this past 1 to 1 & a ½ yrs. the levels seem to be staying on the normal side and I'm losing weight! Makes me a happy camper because I've been carrying way to much weight for way too long!! I've found that those Stouffer's Entree's are the perfect sized meal for me. One of those, once a day, keep me feeling pretty good. I kinda try to eat from a different food group each time I eat during a day. (I eat 5 times a day) I start out with a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. Then I fix myself a nice big salad to eat around 11. 2 o'clock is time for a sandwich or a bowl of fruit. Then around 6 I'll have dinner i.e.souffer's entree and juice to drink. Then sometime between then and bedtime I make sure I've had plenty of water to drink and I've taken all of my pills for the day. I take my last 2 pills for the day at bedtime I'll usually eat an apple or some grapes or some other kind of fresh fruit or veggies before I go to bed. I didn't go on any of those diets that are out there. I've never had any luck with diets. I break them within hours of starting them...LOL!! When I was diagnosed with diabetes that was just kind of the uummmmpppffff that I needed I guess, to start getting rid of the excess weight. I didn't exercise much at all. With my muscle problems, exercise would be a really stupid idea for me. The more exercise I give them, the weaker they get! So, that's about it. No special diet at all...just some modifications.
I tell ya, I don't know what's with me this morning, but I'm about ready to go back to bed. My eyes keep falling asleep and my fingers can't type when my brain won't work...LOL. I think I"m going to try laying back down for a little while. This is silly trying to stay awake like this. Will catch up with you later dearie.
Love,
Moki
