a woman filled with kindness

her heart surely made with gold

makes life seem like a place of love

always gives her hand to hold

her hugs filled with warmth

a comforting place in her arms

a loving soul with so much to give

and asking for nothing in return

full of purpose a pillar of strength

feel I can lean on in a time of need

but not wanting to risk asking

for I have nothing to give in return

just a smile of gratitude

and love in my heart, hugs of my own

in her presence I feel so safe

like I’m not all alone

and I feel I can be myself

not hide from the world

she opens my mind to the possibility

that I am loving and have something to give

to this beautiful soul I am forever grateful

for all the strength given to me

that hopefully the world can now see
