Dearly Beloved;
I'm writing this letter
To express my heartfelt thanks
For guiding me throughout
Life's little ups and downs.
You saw me through the good times.
Times of joy, times of laughter.
Times of peace and happiness.
You helped me through the bad times.
Lifting me high when I was low.
Through your love, I became strong.
Able to push aside the obstacles that were in my way.
You helped me to unlock my heart of gold.
Releasing the goodness from within.
It was you, my guardian angel,
Who displayed my heart for all to see.
If this, my friend, were a portrait of you.
It would, indeed, be beautiful
Like a flower bursting into bloom.
If this, my friend, were an open book.
I'd read it from cover to cover,
From beginning to end.
We've been through so much together,
You and I.
With you as my lifelong companion,
Watching me from so far away.
Our friendship was a friendship
That nothing could touch.
So strong was our bond
That nothing could come between us...
...except for the passing of Time.
For now you are millions of miles away.
In a place that only love itself can reach.
No gifts can I send on this day of days.
Nothing to look at, no books to read.
Nothing of any price.
But the one gift that I can send,
Is the most priceless gift of all.
The gift of my everlasting love,
For you and only you.
For every word you see within this letter,
They are the words of love alone.
We shall meet again someday.
But, until then,
I'll never stop thinking of you,
My special friend.
